Later, the Jade Emperor discovered that the Seven Fairies had secretly descended from the mortal world, and ordered the Seven Fairies to return to the Heavenly Court, and Dong Yong and his wife bid farewell to this.
When Dong Bao grew up, he met the prophet Mr. Onigu by chance. This Mr. Onigu was very good and guided Dong Bao to meet the seven fairy girls. Xian Gu gave Dong Bao a bowl of grain from the Heavenly Palace and told Dong Bao that he could eat enough to cook one grain a day. But after Dong Bao arrived home, he put a whole bowl of grain into the pot and boiled it. Soon, the grain in the pot turned into a huge rice mountain, crushing Dong Bao underneath. After a while, a kind of rice that had not been grown on this rice mountain before.

The legend of Xiaogan Hemp Sugar is more lifelike, inspired by a "foodie" lady. Legend has it that the owner of a Tangfang is a "foodie", who secretly eats the sugar in the store every day, and is often laughed at by the boss. Once, the lady boss was eating hard with candy when she suddenly heard the door slamming, and in a hurry, she threw a bowl of sugar into a jar of sesame seeds, trying to pretend that nothing had happened. As a result, the sugar grains at the corner of the mouth betrayed her, and the boss saw the sugar in the sesame jar crying and laughing, and it was a pity to throw it away, and it was impossible to separate the sesame seeds and sugar without losing it.
The hostess made up for the work and thought of a good idea, put the sesame seeds and sugar together in the pot, and burned them into sugar cakes. The owner took a bite and it tasted sweet and crispy. Later, the teacher of the shop next door who boiled sugar heard about this and improved the sugar cake to create Xiaogan hemp candy.
A thousand years of history has been passed down to this day
Xiaogan hemp sugar has a thousand years of history, as early as 924 AD, during the Tang Zhuangzong period, Xiaogan hemp candy was designated as a tribute in the palace, and was transported from Xiaogan to the palace every year.
The "Records of Xiaogan County" compiled by Qing Kangxi in the 34th year also mentions Xiaogan hemp candy: "Fat hemp can be oil, and glutinous dumplings are thought to be sugar, known as hemp candy." "Since the Qing Dynasty, hemp sugar has been brought to various places by Tangfang from Xiaogan, and it is popular to use wooden barrels or bamboo baskets brushed with tung oil and loaded with hemp candy to be sold in Hankou.
In the last years of the Qing Dynasty, Hankou became a treaty port, and as various snacks began to be sold in the concession, Xiaogan hemp candy gradually went abroad and went to the world. In 1922, the Xiaogan County TengyiTai Cake Shop used the exquisite pastry method at that time to make hemp sugar, which made the taste of hemp sugar have a qualitative leap.
Before 1949, in the area of Babukou in Wolong Township, the former Xiaogan County, almost every household was making hemp candy. In 1954, the state-owned hemp sugar factory in Xiaogan County was officially established, and the masters in the factory were invited from Wolong Babukou, representing the highest level of production of Xiaogan hemp sugar at that time.
