At the same time, Toyota's eight plants and 11 production lines in Japan are also scheduled to suspend production in February due to chip shortages, including the Motomachi plant, the Takaoka plant, and the Tahara plant.

Toyota said that due to this impact, Toyota expects global new vehicle production in February to be about 150,000 units less than the production plan, or about 700,000 units. Due to the temporary suspension of production, Toyota expects full-year production in fiscal 2021 (ending in March 2022) to be lower than the previous forecast of 9 million units.
