Before I came to Gansu, I heard a saying: "There are no birds in the sky, no grass on the ground, the wind blows stones to run, and there is not enough oxygen to eat." People use this sentence to describe the regional characteristics of the northwest region with arid climate, strong wind and sand, and harsh natural conditions. But the moment I stepped on the land of Longyuan, this impression was instantly subverted.
Gansu is located in the northwest hinterland of the motherland, "the desert is lonely and straight, the long river is full of sunset", "yellow sand is long, camel bell arrays" and other desolate and slightly romantic words and phrases have preconceived notions in my mind and become my initial imagination of Gansu.
Since then, with the close contact with Gansu, my understanding of Gansu has become deeper and deeper...
From east to west, Fuxi's hometown has a humid climate and beautiful scenery; the terraces of Pingliang, the important town of Longdong, and the dingxi terraces of The Gateway of Lanzhou are staggered, forming a unique landscape; Jincheng Lanzhou has the Yellow River running through the city, enjoying the reputation of "Yellow River Pearl", "Waterwheel Capital", "Guaguo Famous City" and so on; Wuwei, Jinchang, Zhangye, Jiuquan, Jiayuguan Hexi Five Cities are like "green pearls" embedded in the Gobi, and have their own charming scenery. Looking at the entire Longyuan land, although the natural conditions are not superior, everywhere seems lush and vibrant, and in the inherent roughness and emptiness of the northwest region, there is no lack of poetry and elegance in the water town of Jiangnan, which is very different from my original imagination.
It is understood that Gansu is located at the intersection of the Loess Plateau, the Inner Mongolia Plateau and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, spanning three natural areas: the eastern monsoon region of the mainland, the arid region in the northwest, and the alpine region of Qinghai-Tibet. The unique geographical location and special atmospheric circulation make the arid and semi-arid area account for 72% of the total area of the province, and the area of the humid semi-humid area accounts for only 28% of the total area of the province; the average precipitation of the province for many years is 278.7 mm, which is only 43% of the national average precipitation, and the water shortage and regional distribution are extremely uneven.
Longzhong and Longdong regions have been drought for ten years, drought and little rainfall, and the population is concentrated, the cultivated land area is large, the land is high and the water is low, it is one of the most scarce water resources in the country and the most fragile ecological environment, known as "bitter barren armor in the world". In order to solve the problem of drought and water shortage in the longzhong longdong region and let the villagers live a good life, Gansu put forward the idea of "leading the Tao River and Zelongzhong" in the middle of the 20th century, which opened the curtain on the construction of the leading tao project, but limited to the financial, material and technical conditions at that time, the project was forced to stop. After entering the new century, the diversion project was restarted.
After 14 years of construction, the backbone project of diverting water supply has been completed and opened to water, which has attracted a clear stream for the Longdong area of Longzhong and Longdong, and the dream of the people in the Longzhong and Longdong areas has finally been realized.
According to the data, the water supply project is the largest cross-basin water transfer project in Gansu with the largest investment scale, the longest diversion canal line, the widest coverage area and the largest number of beneficiaries. The project is designed to divert 550 million cubic meters of water per year, built in two phases, and the beneficiary area covers 13 counties and districts of 5 cities in Lanzhou, Dingxi, Baiyin, Pingliang and Tianshui, effectively solving the problem of domestic production water for more than 6 million people in central Gansu, and adding nearly 500,000 mu of agricultural irrigation area.
Nowadays, listen to mr. Liu Fu's "Dream of Yuantao", the old "Introduction of Tao People", take a look at the meridian chakra of the Dream Project, the backbone projects painstakingly created by generations of Construction Builders are like a giant dragon coiled around the land of Longyuan, and the supporting projects such as reservoirs and reservoirs are like brilliant pearls scattered around the dragon's body, with the canal line as the connection, the clear and sweet Tao River water is transported to the corners and corners of the Longdong region of Longzhong, supplying thousands of households, so that the land with water shortage will no longer dry up, and the villagers will rely on people's backs to drink water. The past of planting land and looking at Providence has become history.
Gansu is a hot land, here is a long history, splendid culture and hard-working people, Gansu people have a spirit of struggle not to succumb to reality, dare to change the world.
