However, this person's ability was far stronger than Zhu Yuanzhang's. When Zhu Yuanzhang was a small soldier led by the Red Army, the monk was already a man with more than 100,000 troops.
This monk was one of the important initiators of the Red Turban Rebellion, and the leader of the rebel army during the Yuan Dynasty, Peng Yingyu, was a monk. Peng Yingyu's origin is similar to Zhu Yuanzhang's. He is from Yuanzhou City, Jiangxi Province. He was also poor from an early age. At the age of 10, he was sent by his family to Cihua Temple and became a monk. However, Peng Yingyu is bold, he is not like Zhu Yuanzhang, he only wants to mix a few meals in the temple, but he has long been determined to the world. Faced with the chaotic period at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Peng Yingyu thought that his opportunity had come.
Peng Yingyu used his proficiency in medicine to treat the surrounding villagers for free, and soon accumulated a high prestige. He then secretly developed and established an astonishing number of large organizations in the name of spreading the White Lotus religion. He took full advantage of the strong dissatisfaction with the people who were living in difficulty in the Yuan Dynasty, declared that "Maitreya came to the world and changed the world", and made full preparations for the uprising spiritually and organizationally.
From Emperor Shun of the Yuan Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty for four years, he formally rebelled, becoming the first person to openly resist the tyranny of the Yuan Dynasty. Peng Yingyu became the founder of the Southern Red Scarf Army, 13 years before the Liu Futong Uprising of the Northern Red Scarf Army. Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang was only ten years old at the time and was still herding cattle to landlords in his hometown. Peng Yingyu's uprising shocked the emperor of the Yuan Dynasty. He personally identified and cultivated a large number of elite talents, and became the backbone of the future Red Turban Army, such as General Zhao Pusheng, Zou Pusheng, Kuang Putian, Ding Pulang and other generals, all of whom came from his staff and the "Huangpu Principal" who can be called the Red Scarf Army. Many of them will intersect with Zhu Yuanzhang in the future.
After Peng Yingyu's death in the war, his disciples continued to serve as generals in all armed forces of the Justice Army, upholding their will. Another apprentice of Peng Yingyu, Ding Pulang, was also a brave and belligerent general. At first, he was a colleague of Zhao Pusheng, who served as a military general under Chen Youliang's forgiveness. After Zhao Pusheng was killed, Ding Pulang was disappointed in Chen's frustration and switched to Zhu Yuanzhang.
