Siltech in the Netherlands has two high-order conductor technologies, namely Silver-GoldAlloy and monocrystal Silver. For gold and silver alloys, most of the early market uses copper as a conductor, the reason is that silver conductors are prone to harsh and impatient hearing in the high-frequency band, and everyone can't solve it and simply use copper conductors. Truly top notch, even the production is exquisitely crafted
Every Siltech cable uses the highest quality conductors, shields and connectors at every price level as much as possible. In addition, each product is assembled by Siltech in a specially designed factory in the Netherlands and tested individually against reference standards. Some wires are made entirely by hand from the beginning, and all terminal blocks must be done by hand. Stranding and stripping are done by high-precision professional machines. Welding is carried out with special tools to ensure adhesion between metals to prevent signal loss. The engraving was done using Siltech's own high-power precision laser equipment. Before each cable is ready for sale, each piece of the product needs to be measured and tested on a specially designed computer. In addition to this, each wire is auditioned to guarantee an exactly high standard. The result is an ultra-high precision product that is durable and performs as reliably over many years of use. In fact, the lattice structure of silver and gold slowly improves over time, so its electrical properties slowly improve. The Classic series traditionally uses Kapton insulation, a stabilized material developed by DuPont Chemicals – Polyimide Films. It was found to provide better protection for conductors – and the new Legend is the use of a polytetrafluoroethylene, known as Teflon. Polyether ether ketone, a colorless organic thermoplastic polymer called PEEK, is then added to form a three-layer insulating material. Siltech's research has found that combining different materials can significantly improve sound performance. These multilayer materials offer a variety of unique properties, such as excellent thermal stability and physical robustness, as well as better electrical shielding performance within the audio spectrum and at higher frequencies. This has become more important than ever due to the widespread use of noisy switching power supplies in modern homes. Measurements demonstrate how these interferences induce nonlinearity in the current, creating distortion and destroying sound quality. Siltech conducted very exhaustive measurements and subjective hearing tests to find out how best to combine shielding materials and found that a general version of these materials was not good enough if only these materials were used. Therefore, they assigned DuPont Chemical the purest Teflon and found that it could make the greatest improvement in subjective vocal performance.
Classic Legend analogue line
The Classic Legend series offers three models of RCA analogue cables, the 380i, 680i and 880i, all using Siltech's latest G9 silver-gold alloy conductors. This is the company's best product of this type to date. They are all coaxial twisted pair designs with the highest performance performance that can be extracted in metallurgy. High-quality three-layer insulation materials, including DuPont Teflon and PEEK, minimize electrical and mechanical noise. Both cores of the 680i are twice as large as those used in the 380i. The insulation is stronger and the shielding is improved. The importance of the need for a high-quality connection between the digital source and the DAC decoder is unquestionable. Poor digital filaments can suffer from electrical interference and jitter, causing poor sound playback. Therefore, Siltech's three Classic Legend digital cables, each designed from scratch, especially for the connection terminals used. Siltech's goal is to minimize jitter to ensure optimal time domain performance, especially when using an external clock. At the same time, very precise impedance matching is the main design criterion, so we carefully measure the impedance of each wire to ensure its accuracy and correctness.
