Former parent company Telia announced in October 2020 that it would sell its global business, Telia Carrier Mobile, for SEK 9.45 billion (€935 million) to Polhem Infra, an infrastructure investor owned by a Swedish pension fund.

Arelion's largest market is the U.S., and the company plans to maintain its strong position in North America and Europe, as well as increase its business investment in Asia. The next step is for the company to push for the densification of its network to get closer to where users are, possibly building more data centers.
