Recently, Qualcomm announced a partnership with Vodafone and Thales to launch smartphones with new iSIM technology that allows the functions of the SIM card to be incorporated into the device's main processor.
Through the demonstration, Qualcomm used a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G phone equipped with a Snapdragon 888 processor, allowing the phone to achieve network connectivity without a physical SIM card.
Compared with the previous eSIM, iSIM does not require any separate chip, and is directly embedded in the processor, which has a higher advantage.
