【CNMO News】On January 19, the Hurun Research Institute released the "2021 Hurun China Top 500", which lists china's top 500 non-state-owned enterprises, ranking according to the market value or valuation of enterprises. The threshold for the list to be listed was raised by 9 billion yuan over the previous year, the total value increased by 10 trillion yuan over the previous year, and the average value increased by 20 billion yuan over the previous year. At the same time, 180 companies on the previous year's list fell off the list this year.

The list shows that although Tencent's value fell by 1 trillion yuan, down 22% year-on-year, it still ranked as China's most valuable non-state-owned enterprise with 3.9 trillion yuan; TSMC ranked second with a value of 3.7 trillion yuan, and Alibaba's value fell by 48%, falling to third; ByteDance's value was 2.25 trillion yuan, up 221% year-on-year, up five places, second only to Alibaba; CATL entered the top ten for the first time, with a value of 2.5 times that of last year, reaching 1.5 trillion yuan.

Geographical distribution

From the perspective of cities, Shanghai has become the city with the largest number of top 500 enterprises, slightly better than Beijing; from the perspective of provinces, Guangdong ranks first with 87, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Qinghai have enterprises entering the top 500 for the first time; a total of 177 enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region have entered the top 500, accounting for 35% of the country. From the perspective of industry distribution, the energy industry is second only to the medical industry, becoming the second largest number of top 500 enterprises.
