"Lying on ice for carp" and "Zhang net catching birds" Filial piety story prototype Wang Xiang and Susong County Wang Zhuang Village

On January 16, the 2021 annual meeting of the Susong Wang Xiang Cultural Research Association was held at the Susong Hualing Hotel, and more than 50 people from the main responsible persons of the research association and the presidents and guests from various branches of the county attended the meeting. President Wang Ganjun reviewed the work of the past year and deployed the main tasks for the next step; Vice President Wang Shuihua presided over the meeting.

Founded in 2017, the main task of the Wang Xiang Cultural Research Association is to excavate, collect and sort out the relics, suicide notes, relics and relics of Wang Xiang after the relocation of Wang Xiang and the stories of Wang Xiang that have been passed down to this day, build the Wang Xiang Memorial Hall; publicize Wang Xiang's concept of life of "thick and thin burial" and inherit his spirit of honesty and public service; and through the study of filial piety culture, inherit the positive moral energy that still has vitality in history and culture. The meeting reaffirmed the "Statutes of the Wang Xiang Cultural Research Association", reported on the construction of the Wang Xiang Memorial Hall, and called on the majority of members to further sort out and collect the deeds of Wang Xiang's filial piety, excavate the spiritual connotation of his filial piety culture, and make their due contributions to vigorously carrying forward the core values of socialism and building a culturally strong county.

According to historical records, Wang Xiang was born in 184 AD, due to the war at the end of the Han Dynasty, "fu mother and brother" lived in seclusion in Susong Longmen (present-day Susongzuoba) for more than 20 years, and was a filial piety of "lying on ice and seeking carp" and "catching birds with nets" circulating in society. Since 2013, Wang Xiang's descendants and retired village cadres have begun to collect and sort out Wang Xiang's deeds, plan to establish the Wang Xiang Cultural Research Association, prepare for the construction of the Wang Xiang Memorial Hall, and develop the team of the Wang Xiang Cultural Research Association, and finally achieve a series of achievements.

In 2021, Wang Xiang was also rated as Susong Ancient Township Sage by the Susong Xiangxian Cultural Research Association, and his deeds were included in the Susong Xiangxian Cultural Series (the second series) "Susong Xiangxian of the Past Dynasties" (continued).

Before the meeting, the vast number of participants also visited the Wang Xiang Memorial Hall located next to the Revitalization Avenue of Fuyu Town with great interest.
