The post-00s guys risked going to Myanmar for high-paying jobs and fell into the fraud trap

China Youth Daily client news (Chen Mengchu, Zhang Yuqi, China Youth Daily, China Youth Network reporter Li Chao) Just after New Year's Day in 2022, Wang Zhuo (pseudonym), a post-00s Henan boy, became a "takeaway rider", shuttling through the streets and alleys of Shanghai every day.

A year ago, Wang Zhuo was ready to follow his uncle to a Burmese casino as a security guard to earn a monthly salary of 10,000 yuan, only to find out that it was a scam, and a group of 6 people was restricted from personal freedom and almost strayed into a telecommunications fraud gang. Fortunately, they eventually escaped and "fled" back to China.

Wang Zhuo, born in 2002, has been divorced since childhood. After his father remarried, Wang Zhuo has been living with his stepmother and two younger sisters. Wang Zhuo's father is engaged in welding work, usually busy with his livelihood, and has little communication with Wang Zhuo. Until the first year of junior high school, Wang Zhuo's academic performance was always poor.

In 2017, Wang Zhuo dropped out of school to enter the society and became a "hit worker".

Don't look at Wang Zhuo's young age, he has done a lot of work. He worked as an apprentice in a barbershop, worked on a construction site, and worked in a factory in a foreign country.

In March 2020, Wang Zhuo, who was working in a factory in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, received a call from his uncle Guo Mou, who was working in Suzhou. Guo asked about Wang Zhuo's recent situation, Wang Zhuo couldn't help but spit bitter water, the work in the factory was stereotyped and single every day, the working hours were long, the physical labor was tired, and the salary was still low.

At this time, Guo mentioned that a Fujian friend Akan had acquaintances in Myanmar, and he was ready to go to the Burmese casino as a security guard, and he could earn more than 10,000 yuan a month, and asked Wang Zhuo if he was willing to accompany him.

Wang Zhuo, who heard that he had such a good job and could go abroad with more money, was tired of repeating his work day after day, and said: "I am still young, and I went out with my uncle to break in, maybe there is a new way out!" ”

Akan depicts a workplace with brilliant lights, drunken dreams and dreams, and belongs to "northern Myanmar" between words, which makes Wang Zhuo and others eager to try.

Akan promised that there would be high salaries and intimate "pick-up services" to solve their worries.

On March 18, 2020, under the arrangement of Aken, Guo took his wife Wang Mou, co-worker and fellow villagers Geng Mou and Wang Zhuo on the road to Myanmar.

Akan booked them a plane ticket from Nanjing to Kunming. Two days later, the 4 arrived in Kunming and then transferred to Xishuangbanna.

Originally wanted to go abroad in Xishuangbanna, but due to the epidemic situation, Guo Mou and 4 people were asked to return to Kunming. After Ah Ken learned of the situation, he arranged a commercial vehicle to take Guo Mou and 4 people from Kunming to Yun County, Lincang City, and then several people took a taxi to Mengding in the city.

After several rounds of going around, Wang Zhuo was exhausted, fell asleep in the car, and woke up to find that their group had reached a river. At this time, Wang Zhuo did not want to use his brain to think more, just followed his uncle. Wang Zhuo and his party took a boat to a mountain road, led by 3 strange men to climb the mountain. After a dozen hours of intermittent climbing, they set foot on Burmese soil.

Wang Zhuo and his party were led to a large courtyard still under construction, where they met Akan and met two fellow villagers, Ren Mou and Wang Moujia, who were also from Henan.

The innate affinity brought the 6 people together, and they happily discussed the upcoming "high-paying" jobs. Wang Zhuo even planned the use of the money in his mind, "When I earn money, I will go back to my hometown to open a small shop, and I will never want to run around again." ”

On their second day in Myanmar, instead of being taken to work, they received "pre-job training" at their accommodation — learning how to fall in love with people using mobile phone apps. Dozens of people who participated in the training were restricted from going out, during which they were given mobile phones and confiscated their identity cards on the grounds of applying for temporary residence permits.

After the training, Wang Zhuo was taken to work in a building. There is no casino in the building, and there are hundreds of people with Chinese faces who are holding mobile phones to make calls while operating computers, and many of them are Hokkien people with accents.

Back at the dormitory, everyone realized that they might have been deceived. The high-paying casino security jobs that Akon introduced simply didn't exist, and they stumbled into a telecom network fraud gang. Remembering the kidnapping violence that had occurred in Myanmar before, they were very scared and discussed trying to do everything possible to return to the embrace of the motherland.

On the evening of April 10, 2020, Wang Zhuo and his party sneaked out of the door with old employees and wanted to stop the car to go to the China-Myanmar border. The night was dark and there was not a single car on the road. At this time, Geng mou saw a small advertisement posted on the wall, which said that he could help smuggle back to China, and left contact information.

As if grasping a life-saving straw and holding the mentality of trying it out, they contacted the number on the advertisement, and the other party said that they could take them back to China smuggled back to China, and the fee was 4800 yuan per person. In order to escape from the "Tiger's Den", several people did not think much about it at all, and quickly paid the money, and then the local Burmese took them to the Chinese border on a mountain road.

At 8:00 a.m. on April 11, 2021, Wang Zhuo and his party had just arrived near a village near cangyuan county in Yunnan province and were seized by the police.

After the period of isolation expires, the public security organs conduct a case filing and investigation. On May 12, 2021, the Suzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau directly under the sub-bureau transferred the case to the Suzhou Xiangcheng District People's Procuratorate.

The procurator in charge of the court held that Wang Zhuo and 6 other people violated the regulations on the management of the national (border) border and illegally crossed the China-Myanmar border, constituting the crime of sneaking across the national border, but they went to Myanmar with the mentality of looking for a job, the circumstances of the crime were minor, and they could truthfully confess after returning to the case, voluntarily admit guilt and accept punishment, plus Wang Zhuo was a minor when he committed the crime, and according to the law, he could be exempted from criminal punishment.

On August 20, 2021, the Xiangcheng District Procuratorate made a relative non-prosecution of Wang Zhuo.

The procurator of the Xiangcheng District Procuratorate reminds that minors are not deeply involved in the world, have a weak ability to distinguish, have less understanding of the border management system of the mainland country, do not have a good understanding of the illegality and harmfulness of the crime of sneaking across the national (border) border, and are easily blinded by the temptation of false amounts and high salaries. Minors should establish a correct view of money, enhance their own knowledge and discernment, and never fall into the trap of breaking the law and committing crimes because of the temptation of interests.
