With this model, subway station air conditioning and refrigeration may save 2.2 billion kWh of electricity per year

If this model is extended to subway stations nationwide, it can save up to 2.2 billion kWh of electricity per year, save 710,000 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.83 million tons.

A few days ago, the reporter learned that Nanjing Tianjia Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Tianjia Company) implemented the project of "Comprehensive Energy Efficiency Improvement and Investment Innovation Model of Building Refrigeration System" at Xintang Station of Guangzhou Metro. Compared with other subway stations, the air conditioning and refrigeration of Xintang Station of Guangzhou Metro can save 764,000 kWh of electricity per year, save 244.5 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 635.6 tons...

According to estimates, the 220 subway stations that Tianjia has signed and are implementing the above model can save 168 million kWh of electricity, save 54,000 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 140,000 tons per year. If this model is extended to subway stations nationwide, it will save up to 2.2 billion kWh of electricity per year, save 710,000 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.83 million tons.

Technological innovation directly hits the pain point of building energy conservation

Construction, industry and transport are the three main areas of energy consumption and the main causes of direct and indirect carbon emissions. According to the "China High Efficiency Air Conditioning And Refrigeration Room Development Research Report (2021)", building energy consumption accounts for 35% of the total social energy consumption, refrigeration systems account for 50% of building energy consumption, refrigeration electricity consumption accounts for more than 15% of the total social electricity consumption, and the average annual increase in electricity consumption is 20%, so improving the energy efficiency of building refrigeration rooms is one of the important ways to improve the total energy consumption of buildings and reduce electricity consumption.

However, at present, the energy efficiency of building refrigeration machine rooms in the world is generally low, and the average comprehensive energy efficiency (SCOP) of China's refrigeration rooms is only 3.6, and the average SCOP of the United States is only 4.0.

Since 2015, Tianjia Company, an enterprise in Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone, has implemented the construction of an efficient computer room demonstration station at Xintang Station of Guangzhou Metro. Through the rail transit station load prediction model, they accurately calculated the passenger flow coefficient and air conditioning load coefficient of Xintang Station, and designed the configuration of "70% universal host + 30% ultra-efficient maglev unit", which is mainly operated by the traditional chiller during the high load period in the summer, and the maglev unit is operated with high efficiency in the state of unbalanced load in the transition season.

In the past, people often focused only on the energy efficiency of air conditioning equipment itself, ignoring the energy saving potential of other aspects of the system. In the control system, Tianjia Company carries out personalized customization according to the characteristics of customer operation management and business formats, adopts data modeling and deep learning algorithms, and realizes the active optimization of electronic control strategies, so that the average SCOP value reaches more than 6.7.

At the end of November 2021, the Paulson Institute and Tsinghua University officially unveiled the "2021 Paulson Sustainable Development Award", and Tianjia won the Annual Award in the Green Innovation Category of the Paulson Award for its project "Comprehensive Energy Efficiency Improvement and Investment Innovation Model for Building Refrigeration Systems".

Zhuang Weimin, co-chairman of the award jury, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and dean of the Architectural Design Institute of Tsinghua University, said at the award ceremony: "Based on the urgent and large-scale demand for green refrigeration in China and other countries around the world, the promotion and application of the Tianjia model can effectively promote the green and efficient development of the refrigeration industry, and have a positive impact on the realization of carbon peaks, carbon neutrality goals and climate change mitigation. ”

"Visible energy savings" solve the return on investment challenge

For a long time, building energy-saving technology in the promotion process, often questioned by customers or third parties, the important reason is that there is no unified standard for system energy efficiency, energy-saving data is mostly unilateral testing, resulting in limited energy-saving promotion mode.

In the Guangzhou Metro efficient computer room demonstration station project, Tianjia Company has established an uninterrupted and immutable monitoring platform in the cloud by the user side, the equipment side and the national authoritative institution, so that the energy-saving data is true, transparent and reliable, and shows the user "visible energy saving".

According to the Hefei Testing Institute of the National General Research Institute, The Xintang Station of guangzhou metro applies the energy-saving scheme of tianjia company's subway high-efficiency computer room, saving about 764,000 kWh of electricity per year, and a single station can reduce carbon emissions by about 636 tons per year. By the end of 2020, the total mileage of Guangzhou Metro will be 510 kilometers, 14 lines, 271 stations, and if all of them use this scheme, carbon emissions can be reduced by about 170,000 tons per year.

At the same time, in order to reduce the investment cost of customers, Tianjia Company launched the "Contract Energy Management (EMC)" model, through the signing of energy-saving service contracts with users, to achieve risk sharing, energy-saving benefit sharing, shorten the investment payback period to about 3 years, and truly achieve the lowest cost of the whole life cycle of the refrigeration system.

At present, the technical model of the project has been promoted and applied in Ningbo Metro, Golden Eagle International, Kinsey Pharmaceutical, etc. Abroad, after the application of efficient computer rooms in the Alexandra Point Building in Singapore, the annual cost of air conditioning systems has dropped from $240,000 to $60,000; the One Galaxy commercial complex project in Indonesia has saved about 3.7 million kWh of electricity per year. It is understood that in the commercial and trade buildings, rail transit, GMP pharmaceutical factories, electronic factories, data centers and other specialized areas, this model can be copied and promoted.
