Recently, General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed at the special democratic life meeting on the study and education of party history of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee: "Let the correct view of party history be established more deeply and more extensively, let correct history become the consensus of the whole party and society, and educate the majority of party members, cadres and all the people, especially the vast number of young people, to strengthen their historical self-confidence, build up historical memory, and move forward with confidence." ”
Carrying forward the past and opening up the future, the study and education of party history carried out on the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the COMMUNIST Party of China has enabled the broad masses of party members and cadres to undergo a comprehensive and profound ideological refinement and spiritual baptism. Practice has fully proved that the more comprehensive the understanding of the historical process, the more profound the grasp of historical laws, the richer the party's historical wisdom, and the more active it will be in grasping the future.
In the history of the Party in a hundred years, how many vicissitudes of ups and downs, how many hardships and splendors, several degrees of extinction, several degrees of willow and dark flowers, the breadth, depth and complexity of history itself determine that observing party history from the perspective of any single subject may be biased. To scientifically understand and evaluate major events, important meetings, and important figures in party history, we must establish a correct view of party history and understand and grasp party history with correct stands, viewpoints, and methods. Our party is a Marxist political party, and the materialist view of history is our basic attitude toward history, and to establish a correct view of party history is to use the materialist view of history to understand and evaluate party history.
Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, we have adhered to the materialist view of history and the correct view of party history, and have cleared up the source of the historical issues of the party and the country, and achieved remarkable results. At the same time, we must soberly realize that in order to truly solve this problem, it is still necessary for the party to solemnly, comprehensively, and authoritatively make a scientific summary of the party's history, and on this basis persistently promote the summing up, study, education, and propaganda of party history. History is the best textbook, party history is the best nourishment, to promote the normalization and long-term effectiveness of party history study and education, we must make the correct view of party history more deeply and more extensively established, so that the vast number of party members and cadres can draw historical wisdom from the study and education of party history and better create the future.
In order to establish a correct view of party history more deeply and extensively, we must always adhere to the people's stand. The issue of position is the fundamental issue in the study of party history, and different positions are likely to form completely different historical cognitions. The materialist view of history holds that the masses of the people are the creators of history and the real driving force for history to advance. The people's position is the fundamental political position of the Communist Party of China and is a distinctive mark that distinguishes Marxist political parties from other political parties. The history of the party's century-long struggle is a history of practicing the mission of the original heart, and it is also a history of seeking happiness for the people and rejuvenation for the nation. To establish a correct view of party history, we must profoundly grasp the party's people's nature, respect the people's status as the main body of history, and take the view that "the great power of a big country also has the weight of a big country." In the final analysis, thousands of complicated things are the affairs of thousands of households" the historical consciousness has actively and proactively solved the problem of the masses' "urgency, difficulty, and anxiety."
In order to establish a correct view of party history more deeply and extensively, we must adhere to the methodology of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, and view the party's history from the viewpoint of concrete history, objective and comprehensive, and linked development. It is necessary to fully respect historical facts, base historical conclusions on detailed and accurate historical materials, and restore historical truths as much as possible; it is also necessary to establish a general historical outlook, be good at analyzing the mechanism of evolution from the long river of history, grasp the theme and main line, mainstream, and essence of the century-old party history, understand the objective laws and historical necessities contained therein, and avoid immersing ourselves in the details of the obstacles, or even falling into the wrong path of distorting and negating the party's history.
In order to establish a correct view of party history more deeply and extensively, we must also resolutely resist historical nihilism. "The kingdom that destroys man must first go to its history." Historical nihilism inherits the narrative logic of postmodernist historiography, "shatters" history, ridicules heroes, deconstructs the sublime, holds a comprehensive and thorough skeptical and critical attitude toward everything in force, and adopts an attitude of "joking", "spoofing" and "teasing" toward history and party history. "Some exaggerate the mistakes and twists and turns in party history, wantonly smear and distort the party's history, and attack the party's leadership; some deliberately collude and maliciously hype up party history events with actual problems; some do not believe in correct history and believe in the history of the wilderness, vulgarize and entertain party history, are keen on disseminating gossip and anecdotes, and relish illegal foreign publications."
Recounting the past and thinking, the new journey has begun again. In the study of party history and continuous comprehension, we have pinpointed our own historical orientation and drawn on the inexhaustible strength to forge ahead. Promote the normalization and long-term effectiveness of party history study and education, let the light of history shine into reality and enlighten the soul, and let the majority of party members draw connotations and generate wisdom from the study of party history, and we will surely move towards a broader and more brilliant future.
