Reservoirs are an important supply carrier for water resources, and reservoir safety plays an important role in providing sufficient water sources. In order to maximize the water supply capacity of the reservoir project and reduce the adverse impact of the extremely low temperature freezing disaster on the reservoir, since the beginning of winter, Rizhao City has started from controlling water leakage and ensuring the normal operation of the reservoir gate valve pipeline, and organized the reservoir management unit and management personnel to carry out the "I pass through the winter jacket for the reservoir" activity. The management and protection personnel used felt, plastic film and other thermal insulation materials to carry out special protection for key parts such as the gate valve in the reservoir drainage hole to prevent the metal structure and rubber fittings of the water release cave gate valve from being deformed and damaged due to extreme low temperature and freezing disasters, resulting in leakage of the gate valve.

In recent years, Rizhao City has vigorously carried out the reinforcement and daily maintenance of the sick reservoir, and the reservoir's flood prevention and water supply capacity has been greatly improved. In order to actively respond to extremely low temperature weather, the rizhao water conservancy system continued to strengthen the inspection, information reporting and emergency disposal of reservoir dams, and paid close attention to the operation of dam slopes, water release holes, spillways and other facilities. At the same time, we have actively explored and studied the safe operation and prolongation of life in sensitive parts of the reservoir, and adopted various forms of maintenance measures to ensure the safe operation of water source projects to the greatest extent.
