On 19 September, Tongxu County held a meeting on the deployment of flood prevention work in Liancheng Township, Tongxu County, to sum up the experience and lessons of flood prevention in the past, comprehensively implement the investigation work, do a good job in emergency plans, take effective measures, do a solid job in flood prevention work, and always put the safety of the masses first. Attending the meeting were all cadres, staff and workers of the township and secretaries of party branches of various administrative villages.
After the meeting, the township regularly released the latest information on rainfall to the masses through mobile propaganda vehicles, loudspeakers in villages and villages, WeChat groups, and other propaganda tools, and guided the masses to do a good job in flood prevention measures. Cadres stationed in the villages, in conjunction with the personnel of the "two committees" of each village, organized special personnel to carry out a comprehensive investigation of the drainage problems of dangerous houses and low-lying areas in the whole village, as well as the safety of electrical equipment, and transferred the masses in the dangerous houses to safe areas. Targeted drainage measures were taken to check the sections of roads prone to accumulation of water, and river chiefs were arranged to strengthen the inspection of potholes in ditches in the villages, dredge drainage outlets, and ensure smooth drainage. Inspect the circuit equipment along the streets in the village, especially the temporary electrical equipment, do a good job of waterproof measures, and take power outage measures for low-lying areas prone to water storage to avoid electric shock accidents caused by high winds blowing down power lines.
Zhang Yonggang, secretary of the township party committee, stressed: We must fully understand the possible adverse effects of heavy winds and heavy rains; townships and villages should quickly convene flood prevention emergency teams and prepare sufficient raincoats and rain shoes, generators, pumps, flashlights, and other flood prevention materials; township leaders should command from the front, and cadres should go deep into the frontline to sort out work ideas, refine work links, and use practical actions to ensure the safety of the masses' lives and property.
