There is a saying you may be familiar with: always young, always tearful.
This quote comes from Jack Kerouac's book Dharma Wanderer, who has also been called a representative writer of the Beat Generation in the United States.
In September, I read his masterpiece "On the Road". The reason for reading this book is the recommendation of a self-driving travel blogger: they live crazy, talk crazy, crazy to be saved, and a book has put countless backpackers on the road to roaming.
The wilderness has always had a strong attraction to me. Published in 1957 and written from real-world experiences, it spread to China in the 1980s and influenced a large number of backpackers to set foot on their own. Encountered, naturally to read it.
In addition to the recommendation book itself, I would like to talk about other things.

After returning from Xinjiang in July this year, I suddenly switched from the delicate alpine grasslands, the vast Gobi Desert, the winding and rugged winding roads, the quiet and mysterious canyons, the towering snow mountains, the unpredictable weather of high and low, and the enthusiastic ethnic minority customs, and switched to the urban snail mode, which is a bit unsuitable.
I had the same dream many times when I went to bed at night, dreaming that I fell asleep in the mountains, and when I woke up, I found that there was silence all around. It was as if I smelled a mixture of grass and cattle and sheep, and my arms felt the slightly cold wind. As the line of sight gradually became clearer, I found that there was a light slowly approaching along the mountain road in the distance, and it seemed that it was not close, and I was in a trance for a long time before I realized that I was in bed.
Compared with running on the road chasing all the time, self-driving has since become less strange and has buried a fire. As Jack Kerouac writes in the book, every time I arrive at my destination, I eagerly look forward to the next departure.
For me, the next breakthrough in experience may be to continue to drive a long distance, perhaps to run beyond the limits, or to take a rampage-like hike.

It took 2 days to watch "On the Road", and after watching it again, what they said, what they did, the music they listened to and the wine they drank, it seemed that they were not so important. On the contrary, this life of madness, confusion, indulgence and wanton burning gives people a sense of continuous immersion.
Watching Sal and Dean travel through the east and west of the United States many times, even to Mexico, never tired, recklessly allowing the fire in their hearts to burn. They kept setting off, running on the road, from east to west, from west to east, through one city after another, piece by piece of no man's land.
In such a journey, the destination becomes less important than what the people around you experience. Let the roar of the car and the constant footsteps of the car pass through emotions, thoughts, confusion and uneasiness until the fuel in the body is exhausted before it can be temporarily stopped.
Perhaps many of us have had an impulse to burn like them, but it is constantly affected by culture, society, work, and family, and when we enter a new stable life, this impulse is quickly suppressed or dissipated.
"We're going to Los Angeles!" They shouted. "What are you going to do there?" "Why? We don't know. Who cares? ”
See them constantly confused, running, harvesting, calming, and then confused. I also seem to have found a way to open these congested passages, a lot of desires and impulses, under the guidance of an inexplicable force. It can flow more freely within the body and mind, gradually recovering calm from the rough seas.
This power is sometimes available when there is calm, and more often than not, it needs to go out and act.

In recent years, I have seen many wilderness-related movies and books, such as "Wading into the Wilderness" (the book of the same name, "Out of the Wilderness"), "Wilderness Survival", "Walden Lake", not to mention Beiye's "Wilderness Survival" program, running and other books. I have also had many hikes in the mountains and forests.
These two days re-turned "Survival in the Wild", and near the end of the movie, Cheryl met an angelic little boy in the fairy-tale quiet, green forest, and a heavenly song "Red River Valley" helped her accept and redeem herself. For the first time, I cried out on the way to the PCT.
The book of the same name, "Out of the Wilderness", tells the original intention of this 1600-kilometer hike, because it is based on the real events of the author Cheryl's personal practice, and the text is particularly powerful.
A few years later, when my life was a mess of sadness, I remembered what had sprouted in my chest. It made me believe that this hike across the Pacific Ridge Trail would allow me to find myself back to where I was.
It can be a long hike, it can be a run, it can be a bicycle, or it can be a car or a train. There are convenient places for each, and there are also different experiences. With what may be the only straw found in the chaos of life, the aimless way on the road.
The answer that cannot be found in reality, the loss of the self that cannot be handled. Go into the wilderness, measure step by step, tap the potential of the body little by little, and then you can hear the voice of the heart like a cocoon.
Perhaps a second before the intention of giving up, in the shade of some ordinary stone, in the great beauty of the landscape, in the kindness of some stranger, at the moment of reaching the end. After experiencing the double tossing and polishing of body and spirit, I found the purpose and answer of my own way forward.
Because all along, we have been taught to have goals, methods and action plans, but what can be planned and planned is actually mostly known to us.
The unknown requires us to explore in an unknown way. Maybe you don't even need to really go on the road, you have a goal in your heart, you have faith, and you can continue to reach far away from what you insist on doing every day.
Use it on the road to get through all the confusion and confusion, panic and fear. It makes more sense to say what you want to say, rather than what you say for what you want to say.
