Yang Shouwei came to Weifang Children's Welfare Institute in 2000 and has been engaged in the care of orphaned and abandoned children for 21 years. Whenever a child enters an adoptive family, the original growth record is given to the new mother, and the welfare home leaves only a copy as a souvenir. Yang Shouwei believes that when his new mother said every little thing he grew up when he was a child, at that moment, whether it was for the child or for the new family, it was a more intimate connection, and this was the continuation of the love of the mother of the welfare home for the child.

Over the years, Yang Shouwei's time has been almost completely occupied by the children in the hospital, and the time spent with his family is very small, especially for his daughter, who has always felt guilty. In 2004, Yang Shouwei and his colleagues took a three-year-old child, Zhang Liming, to the hospital for cleft lip repair surgery, and the severe pain after the operation made Xiao Liming struggle and cry. In order to prevent his newly sewn lips from splitting again, Yang Shouwei hugged him almost continuously for three days and three nights.
It was at this time that the daughter had a high fever at home, did not eat or sleep, cried and shouted to find her mother, and the family had to call Yang Shouwei.
