After Zhu Wenzhong's death, Zhu Yuanzhang dismissed Marquis Huaizhong from his post and raided his home on the grounds that he was poisoned, and his family was assigned to the frontier, and other doctors who treated him were affected and all were executed. Zhu Wenzhong's death thus became a historical suspense case.
