According to British media, the suspect, also Jewish, is from amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, and is named Arnold van den Bergh.

Van den Berg was a member of the Amsterdam Jewish Council, which was forced to implement Nazi policies in the Jewish quarters, which was dissolved in 1943.

The committee found that Van den Berg was not sent to the Nazi camp that year, but was living in Amsterdam as usual. Another theory is that Van Den Berg had been providing information to the Nazis about the Jews.

Former FBI agent Vince Pancock said: "Van Den Berg had to provide the Nazis with something of value to keep him and his wife safe. ”

The team said they also did not want to acknowledge the fact that traitors had appeared among Jews, but evidence suggested that Anne's father, Otto Frank, might have known that Van Den Burg had betrayed him, though Otto Frank still chose to keep it secret. In the files of a former investigator, they found a copy of an anonymous letter sent to Otto Frank stating that Arnold Van Den Berg was a betrayer of the Anne family.

According to Dutch media, Van Den Berg died in 1950.
