After the game, the Nets announced that mr. Trump's left knee was sprained during Saturday's game against the Pelicans. The Nets did not elaborate on the severity of the sprain, which affected recovery time. Brooklyn is reportedly optimistic that he will miss 4-6 weeks, the injury is not particularly serious, and Durant may return after the All-Star Game. It also shows that he suffered a second-degree sprain that Durant had suffered before.
The injury came when the Pelicans' Herbert Jones broke through the box when Nets guard Bruce Brown touched him before falling backwards on Durant's knee. Durant tried to get out of the injury by walking, but because it was too painful, he left the game and never came back.
Durant led the NBA with 29.2 points per game and has played MVP-level performances this season, carrying a heavy load, averaging 36.5 minutes per game (fifth-most in the league). The Nets' offensive efficiency dropped by 4.6 points per 100 possessions while Durant was away, and now Durant's burden will fall on James Harden and Kyrie Irving.
