TA: Aubameyang may leave the Africa Cup of Nations to return to Arsenal early due to heart problems

According to The Athletic, Aubameyang may no longer compete in the Africa Cup of Nations and return to Arsenal early due to recent examinations that found heart problems.

After recovering from a covid-19 infection while preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations, Aubameyang underwent a medical examination before last week's match against Ghana and found that he had some heart problems. The African Football Federation therefore banned him from this match.

Aubameyang remains in Cameroon for further inspections, and although he has no plans to fly back to the UK, he may miss out on this Edition of Africa if the results of the inspections are still unqualified.

Whether Aubameyang can continue to compete with Gabon in the Africa Cup of Nations is expected to be revealed on Monday. Arsenal's team doctor has been in constant contact with Aubameyang, who the club believes is not in serious trouble, but they hope the 32-year-old striker will be treated accurately.

However, if Aubameyang returns to Arsenal, his future at the Emirates Stadium is still unknown.
