Among them, the JM9 series of chips was successfully released, and will be applied to geographic information systems, media processing, CAD-aided design, games, virtualization and other fields in the future, promoting the development of high-performance display and artificial intelligence computing.
According to the current situation, Jingjia micro's self-developed graphics processing chip may soon be mass-produced and applied to various technical fields. Jing Jiawei said that the release of this series of chips is only a small step in the development of domestic graphics chips, but it is a big step in the development of the company, and it will increase product research and development and launch more and stronger products in the future.
Jingjiawei launched the JH20 flagship GPU chip in December last year. This is the third generation of Jingjiawei high-performance graphics processing chip with completely independent intellectual property rights, which will be applied to high-end graphics display, general computer and other fields. JH20 uses a 14nm process, the chip pixel fill rate is 32G Pixels/s, the single precision floating-point performance is 1.5TFlops, and the power consumption is only 30W.
NVIDIA's gtx 1050, also on a 14nm process, has a pixel fill rate of 36.43G Pixels/s, floating-point performance of 1.733TFlops, and power consumption of 75W. The JH20's performance is close to that of the GTX 1050, and the power consumption has been reduced by more than half. Such performance may not be remarkable, it is difficult to play too much role in daily scenes, but it symbolizes the first difficult first step taken by domestic self-developed graphics cards.
The global cutting-edge semiconductor field is almost monopolized by American technology, and the CPUs, graphics cards, mobile phone processors, etc. we use have American technology. It is really difficult for domestic semiconductor technology to completely jump out of the United States technology to achieve complete self-development, and it is difficult to develop its own ecosystem in the existing global ecosystem.
However, the "entity list" of the United States in recent years has sounded the alarm bell for all domestic enterprises, and enterprises that currently master independent technologies, such as Huawei, DJI, Hikvision, Jingjiawei, etc., have been listed on the sanctions list. This not only restricts the development of these companies' own overseas markets, but also restricts the development of domestic semiconductor technology.
Therefore, more and more domestic companies are accelerating the self-development of chips in various fields, and these chips may have slightly worse performance at this stage, and there is a big gap with the mainstream products on the market. But I believe that under China's speed, domestic chips will soon catch up with the world level, and it may not be too far away from computers and mobile phones that use pure domestic technology.
