Sightseeing tour at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France

On October 26, 2018, I came to the romantic capital of Paris, France, and visited the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

The Arc de Triomphe in Paris is a famous building in France and even the world, and at the same time, it is also the largest arc of triumph in Europe. The Arc de Triomphe, located in the center of central Paris, placed in the centre of Charles de Gaulle (also known as the Place de la d'Etoile), was built by Napoleon to commemorate his defeat of the Austro-Russian forces at the Battle of Austerlitz. The design of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris is atmospheric, the architecture is majestic and beautiful, therefore, in Europe there are many countries and many places to imitate a number of triumphal arches, it is said that the arc de triomphe established in many countries in Europe has hundreds of triumphal arches, but the Paris arc de Triomphe should be the largest of them.

The Arc de Triomphe in Paris was completed on July 29, 1836. According to the data, the Arc de Triomphe in Paris is 50 meters high, 45 meters wide and 22 meters thick, with a gate on each side and a central arch 14.6 meters wide. There are many exquisite carvings on the doors, and the inner wall is engraved with the names of 558 generals who followed Napoleon in the Western Expedition, and hundreds of reliefs of victorious battles that glorify Napoleon's great achievements. The outer walls are carved with huge statues based on the history of the French war from 1792 to 1815, all of which have their own characteristics, and the reliefs of the flowers on the lintel form an organic whole, which is like a beautiful and moving work of art. The most attractive of these is the relief of the "Marseillaise" carved on the stone pillar on the right (facing the Pastoral Street), which is an immortal work of art in the history of world art.

According to reports, in November 1920, France built a tomb of the Unknown Soldier under the Arc de Triomphe, and the martyr buried in the tomb of the martyr was an unknown soldier who died in the First World War, representing the 1.5 million French officers and soldiers who died in the war.

The arc de Triomphe is topped by a platform from which visitors can enjoy a bird's-eye view of Notre Dame Cathedral, the Luxor Obelisk in Place de la Concorde, the majestic Eiffel Tower and the Sacré Coeur. Overlook the twelve radial boulevards stretching out from the Ring Avenue in all directions under the Arc de Triomphe. The Twelve Avenues radiate a brilliant light like a star, and the Arc de Triomphe is therefore also known as the "Stargate". Of the twelve boulevards, the most famous are the Champs Elysées, Grandes, Alme, Boulevard Des Grottes...

When I arrived at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, I first took a tour bus around the Arc de Triomphe, and then the tour bus driver stopped by the road on the side of the Arc de Triomphe, where tourists could stop to watch and take pictures. So I got out of the car and walked quickly around the Arc de Triomphe to enjoy the scenery, take pictures, and admire the majestic and world-famous building of the Arc de Triomphe up close, especially taking close-up shots of several sculptures.

The Arc de Triomphe in Paris is not only a very monumental building, but also an admirable work of art.
