On the morning of August 26, just after dawn, the 4th Company of the 2nd Battalion, 19th Regiment, 7th Division, Ichino Third Army captured a group of prisoners and interrogated them, and learned of an important situation: there were still a large number of enemies gathered at the airfield, ready to escape.
"Inform the whole company to advance to the airport immediately!" Company commander Jia Qiuzhong (born in 1923 in Shijiazhuang, Hebei) did not hesitate to give the order.
At this time, the operation department of the Fourth Company had lost contact, but Jia Qiuzhong was not willing to let the enemy escape, and as long as he found that there was an enemy, he decided to fight wherever he wanted. If this enemy gathered at the airfield is allowed to escape, there will be endless trouble, and this is a big fish, which should not be missed in any case.
Jia Qiuzhong led four companies of 145 soldiers to speed forward, they went to the airport to see, good guys! There was indeed a large number of enemies gathered there to suppress the black pressure.
Jia Qiuzhong understood: In the case of the enemy's strength far exceeding our side, as long as they launch a counterattack, the whole company will suffer a big loss; but if we relax, the enemy will have the possibility of escaping, and no matter what, the enemy cannot be allowed to run away!
So how to deal with so many enemies? Jia Qiuzhong knew very well in his heart: In the case of a huge disparity in the strength of the enemy and ourselves, we can only take it wisely, not attack by force.
At this time, the enemy had found that the People's Liberation Army had caught up, and as long as their commander properly organized the battle, the soldiers of the four companies were likely to fall into the enemy's siege.
At this critical juncture, Jia Qiuzhong's clever move was moved, and he decided to use the technique of deceiving the enemy, and he deliberately shouted in his voice: "The first battalion is to the left, the second battalion is to the right, and the third battalion is inserted from the flank, so I will set up the heavy machine guns and shoot at the enemy fiercely!" ”
The soldiers of the fourth company also shouted as they rushed: "Quickly surrender your guns, our team has rushed up!" ”
At this time, except for the seventh squad that followed the company commander, the other units of the whole company quickly withdrew to the surrounding area and ambushed, ready to attack. The other enemies stood with their heads hunched over, not daring to move half a step. When they saw the actions of their bosses, they all shouted: "Don't fight, let's surrender our guns!" ”
Just in case, Jia Lianzhong decided to divide the prisoners into two groups and escort them to the regimental headquarters.
The first group successfully completed the mission, but just as they were preparing to escort the second group of prisoners, four companies of a cavalry regiment of horse bandits suddenly came from the west and prepared to flee eastward.
Jia Qiuzhong immediately ordered three platoons of Jin Zhengfa to intercept this enemy and try to force it to surrender.
At the same time, Jia Qiuzhong informed the ambush troops to set up heavy machine guns and mortars, deliberately letting the enemy see these heavy weapons. In fact, these things were all captured from the enemy in this battle, and they really came in handy.
When the horse bandits saw this, they were all frightened and had to obediently lay down their weapons and surrender.
In this way, a company of only 145 soldiers in the People's Liberation Army used the technique of deceiving the enemy to capture more than 2,500 bandits in a single battle.
After the battle, the fourth company was awarded the honorary title of "the fourth company of courage and resourcefulness to annihilate the enemy in large quantities" by the First Field Army.
It is worth mentioning that Jia Qiuzhong, a company commander with both wisdom and courage, was soon promoted to battalion commander, and later promoted continuously, and the highest position before his retirement in 1977 was deputy commander of the Seventh Division of the First Army of the People's Liberation Army.
