Nvidia: GPU shortages will ease before the 40 Series graphics cards go on the market

According to WCCFTECH, NVIDIA Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress said the global chip shortage will improve in the second half of 2022, just before the GeForce RTX 40 series goes on the market. It also pointed out that there is a huge demand for GeForce graphics cards and GPUs, which exceeds today's chip supply capacity.

Not only did NVIDIA's chief financial officer say so, but the CEOs of Intel and AMD had previously hinted that the overall chip shortage would ease by the second half of 2022, but did not say what was making the situation better.

It looks like NVIDIA will focus on its next-generation GPU architecture, code-named Ada Lovelace, which will provide computing power for the GeForce RTX 40 family of GPUs. As a result, migrating to next-generation devices may ease some of the burden on the current GPU lineup.

In addition to this, Nvidia has spent billions of dollars to buy a large number of 5nm wafers from TSMC, which will be used for its next-generation GPUs.

The entry-level GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card will launch on January 27, with rumors that its supply will be larger than the GeForce RTX 3060 series, and it won't be long before we can see if this is true.
