The average price of graphics cards continues to decline, with increased supply being the main driver

Recently, 3DCenter has compiled the latest graphics card price trends, and since entering 2022, the prices of both NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 30 series and AMD Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards have declined. The latest issue of graphics card price trends shows that graphics card prices have fallen further as supply has increased.

The supply of graphics cards seems to have improved significantly in 2022, and perhaps many users will expect the price to be closer to the official suggested retail price (MSRP). In fact, there is still a big gap between the price of graphics cards and the official suggested retail price, with AMD Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards averaging 45% higher and Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards averaging 57%. The drop in prices has been accompanied by an improvement in supply, with the data showing that the current supply of graphics cards is in its best period since 2021.

In the AMD Radeon RX 6000 series, the Premium for the Radeon RX 6700 XT/RX 6800/RX 6800 XT is still relatively high, reaching 55%, 73% and 69% respectively; the Radeon RX 6900 XT/RX 6600 XT/RX 6600 premium is comparable, 33%, 33% and 32%, respectively; the smallest premium is the latest Radeon RX 6500 XT, which is only 17%.

Most models of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series still have a premium of more than 50%, but there are some products that are similar to AMD's premium, such as the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, with a premium of 32%, which may be a good choice for high-end users. The recently launched GeForce RTX 3050 is not very price-friendly, with a current premium of 49%. As Nvidia further increases its supply of GeForce RTX 3050, it may fall.

It remains to be seen whether the overall graphics card price will continue to decline, and it is rumored that the price of some high-end components will increase by 10% to 20%, which will form a resistance to the downward trend of graphics cards, and it is possible to stop falling and recover near the middle of 2022.
