The Jiangxi tailor was originally assigned to do intelligence work, but Zhou Enlai denied it, and later the tailor became a founding lieutenant general

Lieutenant General

Born into a poor family, General Kuang Fu Zhao studied tailoring in his early years to earn a living. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Kuang Fuzhao and 10 other regimental cadres came to Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, to accept the unified leadership of Zhou Enlai and do the united front work in Yan Xishan. During this period, they were responsible for the review and training of some young people who joined the army, and then hundreds of enthusiastic young people joined the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army and went to the anti-Japanese battlefield.

Major General Zhao Chengjin

At the end of 1937, on the eve of the imminent fall of Taiyuan, the then office in Jin planned to leave Kuang Fu Zhao for him to carry out underground work under the cover of being a tailor. However, Zhou Enlai felt that the Jiangxi accent of Kuangfu Zhao was too easy to expose and sent him to serve in the combat unit instead.

Soon, Kuang Fuzhao served as the county magistrate of ShanxioShan County, and the county magistrate at that time was responsible for building an anti-Japanese democratic armed force and carrying out political mobilization and military struggle. He was shot through by enemy bullets during an ambush in June 1938. He walked more than sixty miles with his wounds back to the division headquarters for treatment.

The general's brave and tenacious spirit can be seen here.

In January 1939, Kuang Fuzhao was transferred to Hebei. During his time in Hebei, he served as the political commissar of the first sub-district of the Jizhong Military Region, the political commissar of the Jizhong Garrison Brigade, and the political commissar of the Tenth Sub-district. Zhao Chengjin and Liu Bingyan, who had partnered with him, became the founding major generals, and the brigadier Wang Changjiang became the founding colonel.

During his time in Jizhong, he commanded his troops to eliminate the Japanese puppet army and made great achievements. At that time, he led the military and civilians to carry out tunnel warfare in Jizhong, and the later movie "Tunnel Warfare" was filmed in the Ranzhuang Tunnel of the Tenth Division.

Kuang Fuzhao had children in Jizhong, and in order to express his deep affection for the people of Hebei, he named his children Kuang Pingyuan, Kuang Ping Nan and Kuang Ping Dian. His daughter Pingnan recalled the deep friendship of the people of the old district of Hebei.

After being born, Kuang Pingnan was fostered in a fortress family in Xiong County, and their family cared deeply for Kuang Pingnan. At that time, Kuang Pingnan unfortunately had diphtheria, and the women cadres did not close their eyes for three days and three nights to take care of her. Later, the guards rode a bicycle to Tianjin to buy medicine to let her escape the disaster.

When the Japanese army swept away, the cadres hid her in the tunnels and escaped the enemy's burning. Kuang Pingnan later brought up the matter and said that if the enemy found out that she was Kuang Fuzhao's daughter, not only would she not be able to save her life, but even the villagers in the village would have to be killed.

Liu Bingyan

In September 1996, after General Kuang Fuzhao died of illness, according to his last wishes, his sons and daughters buried part of the general's ashes in the martyrs' cemetery of the Mi family in Xiongxian County. The old man's last wish was to continue to stand guard for the people of Hebei, who planted green pines in front of the general's tomb. After the death of General Liu Bingyan, he was also buried here, and the two old comrades-in-arms fulfilled their promises before their deaths. After the founding of New China, General Kuang Fuzhao never forgot the villagers in Hebei, and he also sent money to the old fortress households.
