The selection tournament began on January 10 at Shougang Park, and the selection tournament was held every two days. After the first selection match, 17-year-old Zhang Tianyi stood out and joined Hands with Zhang Yutong to advance to the Winter Olympics. In the second stop, Fan Kexin and Li Wenlong directly advanced. On the first day of the third selection, the female athlete Qu Chunyu played well in the 500 meters and successfully won points, but the male athletes failed to get points in the 500 meters and 1500 meters.
On 15 January, the final 1,000-meter competition of the third qualifying round was held. Sun Long scored points in the first round of the competition. Subsequently, the rest of the players did not get points, and Sun Long got the opportunity to advance. Qu Chunyu ranked first in the women's standings and advanced. In the comprehensive ranking of the three stations, Zhang Chutong and Han Yutong won two other women's participation seats.
