China Youth Daily client news (China Youth Daily, China Youth Network reporter Xie Yang correspondent Wu Weiwen, Huang Wujie, Li Jingjun) Recently, the movie "Bomb Disposal Expert 2" was screened in theaters across the country, and the storyline of the ups and downs shocked the audience. In the Liuzhou Engineering Machinery Section of China Railway Nanning Bureau Group Company, there is also a special "bomb disposal unit", whose main task is to remove dangerous rocks and rocks on both sides of the railway line to ensure the operation of trains and the safety of passengers.

The area they want to protect includes more than 5,800 kilometers of railway lines, 2,542 bridges, 584 tunnels, and they want to remove hidden dangers that threaten the safety of railway operation, most of which are located between lofty mountains and cliffs.

As the construction leader, Lan Yong is the commando leader of this "bomb disposal unit". Before each "bomb disposal", he would go to the scene three days in advance to conduct on-site investigation, and then formulate countermeasures after familiarizing himself with the situation. Lan Yong said that he has three magic weapons for "defusing bombs": carefulness, patience and notebook. The notebook he carried with him was densely filled with small words on the head of the rope, with data parameters and technical data of the entire construction site, the safety, progress, quality of the project, and the use of daily tools, materials, and personnel, all of which were recorded in the book, and many colleagues regarded his notebook as the "encyclopedia" of the construction site. During the day he squatted on the construction site to work, and at night he lay on the edge of the bed to write notes, and so far, he has written hundreds of books.

In March 2020, Lan Yong received a "bomb disposal" task with the most difficult challenge and the highest risk factor in his life - to clear and rectify dangerous rocks on the slope of more than 200 meters on the K391 kilometer of the Nankun Line. The area suffered the largest mountain flooding in history, and the dense distribution of dangerous rocks on the slopes threatened the safety of trains in the Nankun artery. The traffic flow below the slope is dense, and if a stone is dropped, it may hit the train, and the safety pressure is huge; the slope of the entire slope reaches 75 degrees, and the steepest place is close to 90 degrees, which is difficult for personnel to climb; the top of the slope is 250 meters from the ground height, and it is even more difficult to transport thousands of tons of construction materials. However, the experienced "bomb disposal unit" still overcome these difficulties one by one, by building a three-stage protective net above the tunnel to block the fall of objects, using steel pipes to build nearly a thousand steps to enable people to climb up, building a high-altitude logistics ropeway to transport construction machinery and tools, and finally lasted 9 months to successfully dismantle the "aerial bomb" hanging on the Nankun Line.

In the 20 years of working, Lan Yong and his commandos relied on a safety rope every day to patrol between the high bridges and deep tunnels, walking on the steep slopes of the cliffs. Every day, there is a race against disaster; every time, it is a struggle with death. So far, his footprints have traveled all over Guangxi, eliminating a total of 176 safety hazards, preventing dangerous rocks from falling stones from affecting trains 36 times, and participating in flood prevention and rescue 18 times.
