According to the FIA parameter standards, the secondary shaping experts accurately shape the position, height, elevation angle, parabolic length and angle of the jumping platform according to the track design scheme of the two competition items of the snowboard/freestyle ski jump. "The jumping platform for this Winter Olympics is made by snow grooming vehicles that push the snow out of its rough shape and then shape it artificially." Pan Xiaozhi, communication manager of the operation team of the Shougang Ski Jumping Stadium, told reporters. "Artificial shaping will be used with different types of snow rakes, shovels and snow removal shovels for preliminary shaping, and then with the red line and level of these precision instruments for leveling, high pressure to make up for the low, to complete the fine shaping treatment."
According to on-site measurements, the height of the starting platform is nearly 4 meters, the slope of the starting platform and the landing slope is nearly 40 degrees, and the length of the end area is nearly 30 meters. "The design of these two slopes, one is to assist the jump, and the other is to match the athlete's descent angle, to maximize the protection of the athlete and reduce the probability of falling due to mistakes." Han Bo, deputy director of the venue operation team competition, elaborated. "The design of these two angles is the most critical part of the secondary shaping work, and the shapers accurately measure and build the track in strict accordance with the requirements of the international snow federation experts and competition rules."
The track refinement and maintenance work of the Shougang Ski Jump will continue to ensure the best sliding conditions for athletes, and the track will be officially delivered before the Winter Olympic Games.
