Traffic accident in Dakar Rally! The 20-year-old French driver was killed

Official statement of the Dakar Rally. At 11:30 a.m. local time, a traffic accident involving local vehicles and Dakar support vehicles occurred at 234km of the liaison route. A French technician from the PH Sport team, the driver of the vehicle, Quentin Lavalee, was tragically killed in the accident at the age of 20.

Another passenger, Belgian Mexime Frere, was injured and taken to the Jeddah National Guard Hospital for treatment. At the moment he is conscious and is undergoing a comprehensive examination. He suffered contusions in the abdomen and chest.

Quentin Lavalee is the chief mechanic of the Dakar Classic 205 Turbo 16 race car. The Dakar Rally expresses its sincere condolences to Quentin's family, relatives and the PH Sport team.
