The McMahon Line was a 1935 British unilateral forgery of the border between British India and China. India's attempt to inherit this illegal border after independence has been strongly opposed by successive new Chinese governments.
In modern times, the British began to expand wildly, invading the Indian region and establishing British India. The British were not satisfied, and in order to protect the pearl of India, but also for their own powerful ambitions, began to exaggerate to the north.
In fact, although China and India did not have a border in the modern sense, there was a traditional border formed by long-term administrative jurisdiction along the foot of the Himalayas, but in modern times this line was broken, the British tried to go north, and during the period they invaded Tibet twice, forcing the Qing government and the local government of Tibet to sign an unequal treaty.
From October 1913 to July 1914, representatives of Britain, China and Tibet met in Sim, British India, to discuss the status of Tibet.
During the meeting, McMahon raised the issue of dividing "inner Tibet" and "outer Tibet", the so-called "outer Tibet" refers to the current Tibet, and "inner Tibet" is composed of Tibetan areas in Qinghai, Xichuan and Yunnan. To put it bluntly, it means to engage in separatism in China and to make Tibet independent.
During the meeting, McMahon and local Tibetan representatives, carrying representatives of the Chinese central government behind their backs, privately pushed the Tibetan-Indian border by more than 100 kilometers north from the traditional customary line, and allocated 90,000 square kilometers of land that originally belonged to China's Tibet region into British India, and this line is the so-called "McMahon Line."
However, the Chinese representative was opposed and did not refuse to sign the draft. The conference was therefore a failure, did not result in any formal treaty, and had no legal effect.
However, it is said that there is now a new discovery, and it is said that the "McMahon Line" was not mentioned at that meeting, but was first mentioned publicly until 1936, and it was forged by a group of British and British Indian officials who falsified history and published fake books.
However, at any time, the Chinese government did not recognize it, especially when India established an embassy in Nanjing after independence, the National Government also made it clear to the Chargé d'affaires of India that it did not recognize the McMahon Line.
After the founding of New China, the same was true, and the "McMahon Line" was not recognized. However, the Indians began to be aggressive, especially during the period of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and sent troops to occupy the area south of the wheat line.
Not only that, but the Indians also modified the official map and established a pseudo-"northeast border special zone" in the region, playing a rogue. Although China has always hoped to solve the problem through negotiations, India has been aggressive and invincible, creating many bloody incidents.
In the end, in the face of India's invasion, China launched a self-defense counterattack when it could not bear it. But the issue of the Sino-Indian border has not been resolved until now.
