Gallery Week Beijing 2022 will be held in May to showcase the vibrant picture of contemporary art in Beijing

On January 14, the 6th Gallery Week Beijing announced that it will be held from May 27 to June 5, with Vip Day from May 27 to 29 and May 31 to June 5 as Public Day. Up to now, a total of 38 participating galleries and institutions in 7 cities around the world have confirmed their participation, and more than 40 blockbuster exhibitions have been held during the gallery week in Beijing, working together to present an innovative and vigorous artistic scene in Beijing.

Under the joint discussion of the academic committee, the theme of this year's event will be "sharing", aiming to better integrate contemporary art into urban space. As the core of Gallery Week Beijing, the exhibition of the main unit is composed of outstanding local galleries and non-profit art institutions in Beijing, including 23 galleries and 6 non-profit institutions in Beijing, of which EGG Gallery, HdM Gallery, Mofang, Cai Guanshen Cultural Exchange Center and the newly established Macalline Art Center are the first time to participate in the exhibition, while Mozhai Gallery, Pifeng Gallery, Soka Art, Blank Space and Modern Automobile Culture Center will return to this event.

The art visiting unit dedicated to the exchange of international medium-sized galleries has invited 9 galleries to cover a number of important cities in the global contemporary art ecosystem, including Paris, Berlin, Chengdu, London, Shanghai and Hong Kong, four of which are participating in the exhibition for the first time. The participating galleries will use the "city" as a clue to represent the current artistic ecology of the city where they live. Gallery Week Beijing 2022 Public Unit will also engage in dialogue with the surrounding public spaces and audiences through artworks under the theme of "sharing". The New Forces Unit will return in the form of a forum, inviting guests of diverse identities to discuss the future direction of contemporary art from different perspectives.

With the help of the online platform, Gallery Week Beijing 2022 will extend from 9 days of art activities per year to the whole year, and the official app will continue to optimize the user experience, presenting the overall face of the contemporary art industry to readers at home and abroad through graphics, audio, video and other media.
