36Kr learned that the start-up Dexin Intelligent Technology (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Dexin Intelligence") recently completed a 10 million-level Pre-A round of financing. This round of financing is led by Guorun Capital, and SAIC AMERICAN Capital follows.
Founded in June 2020, Dexin Intelligent is a solution provider dedicated to the research and development of millimeter wave radar products. Since its inception, Dexin Intelligent has launched 60GHz millimeter wave radar module, 77GHz-81GHz millimeter wave radar and other products, and has been implemented in assisted driving, intelligent transportation, home care and other industries.
Yang Shaofen, founder of Dexin Intelligence, said that this round of financing is mainly used in two aspects: one is the further expansion of team members, and the research and development team is expected to expand to nearly 100 people within the year; the other is to continue to increase investment in related research and development equipment and production equipment, including the establishment of radar laboratories in China and 2 fully automatic millimeter wave radar production lines.
Yang Shaofen told 36Kr that the current business of Dexin Intelligent is divided into three major parts: one is to provide millimeter wave radar products such as forward-facing, blind area monitoring, and kick tailgate for passenger cars and commercial vehicles; the other is to provide backward warning millimeter wave radar products for two-wheelers; the third is to provide personnel tracking, fall warning, and vital signs monitoring millimeter wave radar product solutions for the home care industry.
At present, automotive intelligence is constantly evolving, as a very important sensor for vehicles - millimeter wave radar has a huge space for development. However, Yang Shaofen also knows that the mass production of millimeter-wave radar is also limited by the research and development and production cycle of the car, and the front loading of the radar generally takes several years to get on the car, and the company's long-term operation needs to have sufficient cash flow.
"We must rely on some short, flat and fast projects to maintain the company's operation, so in the future, we will do more layout in the two markets of two-wheeled motorcycles and pensions across the country." At present, Dexin Intelligent has reached cooperation with some car companies in the field of two-wheelers; at the same time, in the home care market, its fall detection radar has also carried out pilot projects in Nanjing, Jiangsu, Yiwu, Zhejiang, Shangrao, Jiangxi and other cities.
In the field of passenger car assisted driving, Dexin Intelligence's existing angle radar products and kick tailgate radar products have landed in many models of many domestic car companies. In addition, Dexin Intelligent continues to invest in the research and development of cutting-edge millimeter wave radar technology.
Yang Shaofen said that Dexin Intelligence has obtained the authorization scheme of Uhnder, an American digital radar technology company, and will launch a single-chip integrated 12TX (12 transmit antenna channels) and 16RX (16 receiving antenna channels) 4D point cloud imaging millimeter wave radar products in China based on Uhnder's solution in the future.
It is understood that on the basis of the speed, distance and azimuth information provided by traditional millimeter wave radar products, 4D millimeter wave radar products can provide pitch angle information, so that the contour, category and behavior of the target can be effectively analyzed, which means that the 4D millimeter wave radar system can adapt to more complex road conditions, including identifying smaller objects, partially blocked objects, and detection of stationary objects and lateral moving obstacles
Based on a single-chip integrated 4D point cloud imaging millimeter-wave radar, Dexin Intelligent has a longer detection distance, higher distance resolution, angular resolution and stronger anti-interference capabilities, which is generally used to detect vehicles in front of it, and can achieve automatic driving above L3 level.
Yang Shaofen revealed to 36Kr that Dexin Intelligent's 4D point cloud imaging millimeter wave radar product is expected to be launched in March 2022, which is more cost-effective than its peers. In addition to the use of assisted driving, the product can also be used in the field of home care, "can detect human vital signs within a range of 10 meters." "In the future, with the completion of the domestic 4D point cloud imaging millimeter wave radar laboratory, Dexin Intelligence will be able to provide customers with more localization support."
