Until now, many old people have described when telling stories about this army that Yanyun Eighteen Horsemen are like messengers sent by the prefectural government to ask for their lives, and where they have arrived, no one has ever lived. Of course, there is another story about this unit. Turning to the Sui and Tang Dynasties, at that time, the Central Plains were heavily invaded by turks, and it was Luo Yi who guarded the territory, and in the face of the enemy's invasion, Luo Yi led these eighteen people to destroy more than a thousand enemies, and its combat effectiveness can be imagined.
When the Turkic attacking cavalry knew that they were not the opponents of these eighteen people, they chose to retreat, but Luo Yi was willing to let them go easily, so Luo Yi led this army to fight to kill the enemy, and when his cavalry reinforcements arrived, Luo Yi killed into the Turkic lair in one fell swoop! After this battle, Luo Yi's reputation spread widely in the Central Plains, and since then these eighteen people have also become Luo Yi's right and left arms.
However, although Luo Yi regarded several people as his confidants, this unit might not obey Luo Yi's orders. Legend has it that this unit had a relic, and whoever got it could order eighteen horses. It is worth mentioning that we all know the final ending of Luo Yi, after a battle with Liu Heida, Luo Yi was defeated and died, and got the name of a loyal subject. Whether Yan yun eighteen horses were wiped out in this battle is still unknown, and the history books have not recorded it. And after that, the name of this unit never appears in the history books again.
In later Sui and Tang novels, Yan Yun Eighteen Horsemen was disbanded by Luo Cheng (Luo Yi's son), but it should be known that although Luo Cheng had a martial art, he died earlier than his father, so this statement is not very convincing. And did Yanyun Eighteen Really exist? Perhaps there is only one possibility, and that is to be compiled by later generations.
