Beijing News (reporter Xu Bangyin) On the evening of January 12, the beijing winter olympic team of the Chinese curling women's team was officially announced, namely Jiang Xindi, Zhang Lijun, Dong Ziqi and the "post-00s" captain Han Yu, and Wang Rui, who won the mixed doubles runner-up at the Curling World Championships and the fourth place in the mixed doubles of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, served as a substitute.

Born in 2000, Han Yu was selected for the national training team in 2018, a young team formed after the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. After becoming captain in 2019, Han Yu led the team to win the 2019 Asia-Pacific Championship and the 10th place at the 2021 Curling World Championships. Affected by the epidemic, this young team does not have much experience in the competition, but the strength of the team members is obvious to all.

From November 22 to December 31, 2021, the Curling National Training Team Olympic Selection Tournament was held in Shougang Park, Erqi National Ice and Snow Sports Training Base and other venues. The Olympic Selection Tournament consisted of 6 stations, divided into national training teams and national challenge teams, with a total of 4 men's and women's teams and 5 mixed doubles teams participating, and in 6 weeks, 48 four-person competitions and 60 mixed doubles competitions were conducted.

According to the selection rules, the training and guarantee of the two women's teams adhere to the same standard, and after the Olympic selection competition, the personal data of each participating athlete, the number of wins and losses, etc. are counted, and the final lineup for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games is determined through comprehensive ranking. Although the national challenge team has many veterans who have participated in the Winter Olympics, such as Wang Rui and Ma Jingyi, the Han Yu team finally stood out and was shortlisted for the Winter Olympics.

Talking about this young team, Han Yu frankly said that the biggest feature is "trust", whether it is in life or on the field of competition, everyone relies on each other. Dong Ziqi, the third baseman, also mentioned that for the curling project, the trust and tacit understanding between teammates is the basis for winning the game, "Each of us believes in each other, and we pay 100% in the face of every pot throw." ”

Since its first participation in the Curling Competition at the Winter Olympics in 2010, the Chinese women's curling team has achieved a good job. At the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, the women's team composed of Wang Bingyu, Liu Yin, Yue Qingshuang and Zhou Yan won the bronze medal. At the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Wang Bingyu led the team to 7th and 5th places respectively.

According to the World Curling Federation's previously announced schedule for the Beijing Winter Olympics curling events, the women's curling event will start on February 10, and at 9:05 a.m. on the same day, the Chinese curling women's team will play the first game against Denmark. From February 10 to February 16, the Chinese women's curling team will also play against Switzerland, the United States, Sweden, South Korea, Japan, the Russian Olympic Committee, the United Kingdom and Canada in the round robin tournament, and the top four teams will advance to the top 4 and decide the gold medal in the women's curling event on February 20.
