On Monday (January 10), Vickie Paladino, a member of the New York City Council, compared the New York state government's COVID-19 vaccine order with Nazi Germany, FOX5NewYork reported.

Palladino immediately expressed regret saying such a thing and asked the reporter to delete the passage from the interview record.

Palladino, 67, said: "Such a comparison is wrong, it was a flippant comment and I apologize to all those who were offended. ”

In a statement, Palladino wrote: "I was trying to show that the practice of requiring residents to provide medical certificates to make ends meet or to carry out their daily lives was an authoritarian practice that violated American principles and could never be compared to the evil Nazi Germany." ”

Palladino, who represents New York City's 19th northeastern district of Queens, was elected last November and is one of only five Republicans in the New York City Council.

Palladino noted that she was barred from entering the New York City Council on the first day of Jan. 5 because she refused to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. (Original title: New York City Councilor Apologizes: Vaccine Order Should Not Be Compared to Nazi Germany)
