The Qianlong Emperor married Empress Fucha in the fifth year of Yongzheng (1727). In the thirteenth year of Yongzheng, the Yongzheng Emperor collapsed violently, and the Prince of Bao, Hongli (Qianlong), succeeded to the throne, and established Fucha of Fujin as empress. According to history, the empress dowager lived in harmony, respected each other like guests, and had deep feelings like a commoner couple.
However, Empress Fucha, under the blow of the successive loss of her second son, almost collapsed, and finally died during Qianlong's thirteen-year tour of the east, at the age of 37. After the death of Empress Fucha, Qianlong was so grief-stricken that he personally gave her the title of Xiaoxian and directly bypassed the chancellor, which is rare in history.
Three months after Empress Fucha's death, Qianlong felt that three months were like a day, and wrote a touching and profound "Shu Sorrowful Endowment", which is a rare and superior work in Qianlong's many poems. Because of the sentimentality in the poem, the words and tears are touching, and they are solemnly recorded in the Qing history manuscript.

This comes from the opening part of the "Shu Sorrowful Endowment" written by Qianlong when he missed Empress Fucha.

How hurt I was, I had to say goodbye to the queen forever overnight, and from then on, the yin and yang were separated, and I could no longer hear from each other.
Between the lines of "Shu Sorrowful Endowment", Qianlong's true feelings for Empress Fucha are reflected, and it is also a husband's thoughts about his wife. In addition to describing sorrow, Qianlong also wrote a lot of poems that missed Empress Fucha, such as thirty years after Qianlong, when Qianlong passed through Jinan on his fourth southern tour, he had the feeling to write many of his sad poems, which can be called the most touching one.
This poem is "Four Yi Emperor Zu Nan Patrol Jinan Rhyme": the fourth degree of Jinan does not enter the city, I am afraid that I will enter a hundred sorrows. Spring and March are not divided into partial dramas, and seventeen years of hatred have not been peaceful. When Qianlong wrote this poem, Empress Fucha had been dead for 17 years, but Qianlong still could not forget, and it can be said that throughout his life, Qianlong never stopped thinking about his wife.
