Heron Club: Watch over the common earthly homeland

Today, I received a message from Professor Xia Min of the College of Letters of Jimei University. Professor Xia is a veteran humanist who has presided over the National Social Science Foundation project "Research on Ryukyu-related Literature in the Ming and Qing Dynasties", and has a good understanding of the folklore of Okinawa (Ryukyu). Seeing that I was studying the lion culture in Fujian, he successively provided me with some bibliographies and described his impressions of the "Ryukyu lion", as the message said:
Brother Hongdong: The first three photos were taken of the stone lion at the entrance of the office of the university headquarters during my exchange and lecture at Ryukyu University in Okinawa in 2015; the last one was taken from the library of the university when I revisited the Ryukyu University exchange in 2019, and a small stone lion crouched on the steps above the back of my shoulder. In Okinawa, there are countless such stone lions in front of and behind the house, and the attraction sells it as a characteristic mascot of Okinawa. It is also common for the walls of Kume-cho, a Chinese settlement in Okinawa, to be carved with the words "Stone Dare Dang" or "Taishan Stone Dare Dang". However, they are separated from the stone lion, unlike the Minnan Duodi lion and the stone dangdang, but they are treated as evil and disgusting things. Professor Liu Xiaofeng, a doctoral supervisor in the Department of History of Tsinghua University, once wrote a special article (Japanese, where it was sent to forget) saying that there are at least 30,000 Okinawa stone lions, and according to my visual assessment, it should be far more than this number. The main island of Okinawa and the surrounding islands of Yaeyama, Amami, Miyako, And Gumi island are also available in every household, but they are not large. The Okinawa (Ryukyu) stone lion and the inscription "(Taishan) Stone Dare Dang" on the wall are obviously all from China. Historically, Fuzhou was the only legal point for the Ryukyuans to land Chinese mainland, and it was also the only offshore point for Chinese envoys to go to Ryukyu, so the Ryukyu in Fujian was the main source of the Ryukyu stone lion and shi dangdang today. Because I have been studying the cultural relations of Liuzhou for nearly 10 years, I have presided over a number of national fund projects involving Liu, often going back and forth between China and Japan, and I have the opportunity to travel back and forth between China and Japan, and I have run all over the corners and corners of Okinawa. These materials are for your reference.
Professor Xia's message made me think about it for a long time. First, there are so many "Ryukyu lions" in Okinawa, "at least 30,000", or even "far more than this number"; second, the "Ryukyu lions" and Shi Dangdang in Okinawa are all from China and are from Fujian's anti-victories. This reminds me of the "Sword Lion" in Tainan, the "Wind Lion" in Kinmen, and the "Sword lion beast brand" in Southeast Asia's Chinatown, which is not from Fujian. A while ago, I have been looking for the mainland sword lion everywhere and tirelessly trying to write an article to tell readers: The original hometown of the "sword lion" in Tainan is in Zhangzhou, which is the eastern transmission of Fujian's boring culture.
Fujian lion culture is amazing! Fujian's hated culture is amazing! Why should I study Fujian's boring culture? Like the folk beliefs of Fujian, Fujian's disgusted culture is Fujian's strategic cultural resources, future international cultural resources, and the "precious flour" of cultural and creative industries! The aforementioned Okinawa, Tainan, and Kinmen have all been very successful in exploiting and developing this important strategic cultural resource. What about Fujian? What about Fujian? What about Fujian? It's worth pondering!
Over the years, Hongdong has been committed to the discovery, refinement and collation of Fujian's disgusting culture, and some people will wonder: Why not wait until retirement? All I can say is that summer worms are really incomparable. Fortunately, there are still many people who understand and support it, which is why I have been able to persist in doing "humanistic discoveries" in my spare time for nearly seven years.
