This is the calligraphy work of Mr. Wang Yuanjun, the first postdoctoral calligraphy doctor in China. When it comes to the Doctor of Calligraphy, there will be many friends who hold different views, what is the Doctor of Calligraphy? Does inheriting traditional calligraphy need to be so ostentatious? Is it too easy for such a Ph.D.? In fact, this is not the case, at least one thing is certain, the introduction of calligraphy to higher education has indeed promoted the development of calligraphy.

Mr. Wang Yuanjun was born in Laixi City, Shandong Province in 1965 and obtained bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in history from Shandong Normal University, Shaanxi Normal University and Beijing Normal University. He is currently the vice president, professor, doctoral supervisor of the Institute of Chinese Calligraphy Culture of Capital Normal University, and a director of the Chinese Calligraphers Association.
In the 1980s, Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi, a famous calligrapher in China, first opened the precedent of higher education in calligraphy and trained a large number of highly educated talents in calligraphy, Mr. Wang Yuanjun was the first postdoctoral fellow in calligraphy in China trained by Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi.
When he was very young, Mr. Wang Yuanjun was influenced by his family and developed a strong interest in calligraphy. A copy of Ouyang Zhen's "JiuchengGong Liquan Ming" gave him a preliminary taste of the joy brought by the art of calligraphy, and he repeatedly wrote it, and thus embarked on the unremitting pursuit of calligraphy art.
In calligraphy, Mr. Wang Yuanjun is talented, when he was in college, his calligraphy works won the title of the first top ten brush calligraphy, immersed in traditional Chinese culture for decades, he understood the life and charm of calligraphy art.
Putting aside the title and not mentioning the master's inheritance, simply looking at Mr. Wang Yuanjun's calligraphy works, people give the impression of being thick and solid, and the thickness stems from his knowledge and understanding of traditional culture. At the same time, his calligraphy works are delicate and in place, and the pen is extremely clear, of course, thanks to his extremely meticulous posting, the clever control of rhythm, density, black and white, and posture.
Mr. Wang Yuanjun does not advocate the deliberate pursuit of calligraphy to express individuality, as a bookish temperament, personality is a natural thing, with basic skills, with the necessary cultural accomplishment, coupled with rich experience, will inevitably be reflected in calligraphy, then the embodiment must be something with personality.
There are many writers who believe that innovation is personality, innovation without skills, innovation without foundation is meaningless. Besides, what about innovative development if traditional things have not been inherited? Calligraphy should inherit the traditional sublimation of personality.
