Apple: Since the App Store came out, it has paid developers a total of $260 billion

On January 11, Apple said on Monday that the App Store's global platform helps developers of all sizes reach more than 600 million users in 175 countries every week, allowing developers to earn more than $260 billion in revenue by selling digital products and services since the App Store launched in 2008.

"This impressive figure sets a new annual record for App Store developer revenue and represents only a fraction of the App Store's overall transaction value." Apple said that in the holiday season just past, App Store customers spent a record high between Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, achieving double-digit growth compared to the same period last year.

It is understood that at the end of 2020, Apple had said that it had paid $200 billion to developers since 2008. That means the company is paying $60 billion to developers in 2021.

Not long ago, Apple's stock price rose to $182.88 per share, and its market value exceeded $3 trillion, becoming the first company in history to reach this milestone. According to media estimates at the time, Apple's market value at that time was equivalent to 5 Tencent, 7 Moutai and 9 Alibaba. (Article | Author of "Finance and Economics" Weekly, Tang Guo)
