Li Jiancheng was originally the crown prince of the Tang Dynasty, and had always been valued by the founding emperor Li Yuan, and it was likely that he would inherit the throne and become the second emperor of the Tang Dynasty, but Li Shimin later caused a lot of contradictions and disputes with Li Jiancheng and others because he was not convinced, and finally launched the Xuanwumen Incident, directly killed his brother, and forced the emperor Li Yuan to give way and become the emperor himself.
After Li Shimin became emperor, he did his best to erase the relevant records of his brother Li Jiancheng, unwilling to let more people know his information, so the literature on Li Jiancheng was relatively rare, even historical events such as Xuanwumen were not completely recorded, there were many places worth scrutinizing, and perhaps some content deliberately tampered with by Li Shimin. According to Li Shimin, his brother Li Jiancheng was actually a relatively mediocre person, before the establishment of the Tang Dynasty, he basically did not make meritorious contributions to the imperial court, completely as his eldest son, became the crown prince, and he himself was on the front line to fight around, made a lot of military achievements, and accepted many subordinates by his ability, so he was fully qualified to inherit the throne.
Facts have proved that Li Shimin also has a strong ability, he opened the rule of Zhenguan, left a strong mark in the history books, but this does not mean that Li Jiancheng is a mediocre person, he once had great skills, and also won over a lot of civilian and military generals, but unfortunately he did not have The same ruthless heart as Li Shimin, just want to expel Li Shimin through suppression to change a place, as a result, Li Shimin directly launched the Xuanwumen Incident, ruthlessly killed his brother, so Li Jiancheng became a loser, and some of his subordinates were brutally killed. Another part of the people changed the court and joined Li Shimin's men.
