The foreign media revealed that in January 2020, a man who claimed to be Apple's parts manager told Japanese auto air conditioning supplier Sandian that Apple wanted to produce electric vehicles and needed the help of Sande in related parts. As a sign of sincerity, he also showed the schematic diagram of an electric vehicle and air conditioning components to the three electric parties. Since then, Apple and Sandian have continued to discuss component requirements. However, with the outbreak of the epidemic, the situation of Sandian has become more and more difficult because of the break in the capital chain, and joining the Apple automobile supply chain project seems to be a distant thing.

In November last year, a reporter reported that Apple was accelerating the development of electric vehicles, which aimed to launch an electric vehicle with fully autonomous driving capabilities. It is scheduled to be released in 2025, but Apple's car project has also encountered many setbacks in the past, after reports that in September last year, Apple's car chief Doug Field suddenly left his job and went to Ford. Sony, another major digital manufacturer, also exhibited its concept car at the previous CES 2022. In this way, Apple's car-making plan is indeed facing no small difficulties.
