Keane's assessment of Maguire: I judge the players by looking at the performance, not by listening to him say, "We want to unite."

Recently, commentator Roy Keane slammed Maguire's remarks and attacked Manchester United's struggling performance in an interview.

Maguire has been criticised throughout the season for his poor form, which can sometimes cost the Red Devils important points. Earlier this season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer witnessed some of the most embarrassing results in the club's history – a 5-0 defeat to Liverpool and a loss to Watford.

In the match against Watford, Maguire was sent off with two yellow cards, just five minutes apart, which caused the anger of Red Devils fans around the world.

Keane once taunted the centre-back on a Live Sky Sports livestream. In addition to his performance on the pitch, Maguire was similarly blamed for his post-match comments – many thought he was just repeating the same rhetoric after a bad performance.

The United captain recently revealed he was tired of saying the same thing over and over again as some said the dressing room was in tatters under Lonnick's leadership. Maguire said: "We are disappointing the fans and we have to come out and fight. ”

"The team finished second last year. We have a better squad this year, so we have to show the right attitude. We have big players and leaders on our team. I'm tired of repeating my own words, but we can't go on like this anymore. We need to start on Monday and play every game well. ”

"I've seen a lot of criticism, and a lot of it is absolutely true. We all have to take on huge responsibilities and we need to start winning and play well as a team. But Keane didn't buy it, and he slammed Maguire again, with Keane calling on fans not to listen to him until his performance on the pitch improved.

Keane said: "How many times has he said it? I don't listen too much to what he's saying. I judge a player by looking at his performance on the football pitch and not by looking at the 'garbage' he says 'we need unity'. ”
