In May last year, Weishan began planting more than 6,000 acres of perfume lemons, and 800 acres of them deliberately chose the bare rocky land along the Heilai River, which is the most disliked wasteland. The reason for this is to reassure farmers, "Since lemons can be grown in rocky fields without grass, what else can be worried about?" "This trick really worked. A year later, the lemons in the rocky fields are growing well, green, and fruity. Seeing that the harvest is so good, the surrounding farmers have signed up to participate, originally planned to plant 10,000 mu of perfume lemon this year, and now 12,000 mu have been planted, each mu can increase the net income of farmers by nearly 3,000 yuan.
The "golden lemon" around the villagers

The 51-year-old Jin Jun is slightly older than his peers, and his black hair is mixed with a lot of white hair. Before coming to Yunnan, Jin Jun was the deputy director of the Regional Development Office of Zhuqiao Town, Pudong, and now he is a member of the Standing Committee of the Weishan County CPC Committee and deputy county governor. In August 2018, Jin Jun actively responded to the call of the organization and began a three-year work to aid Dian, becoming a conscientious matchmaker between the two places. Weishan County has 35 Shanghai-Yunnan cooperation projects implemented in his hands, effectively driving the local poor people to increase their income and become rich. The county research decided to promote the lemon cultivation industry again and carry out large-scale cultivation through advanced agricultural technology. Jin Jun is actually not the "lemon expert" in the mouths of the masses, but he has taken on the heavy responsibility of finding new partners at key points in time. "I inquired about the large-scale lemon processing plant on the Internet, contacted an expert, invited him to Weishan, and with the help of this expert, I got on the line with the Zhejiang Citrus Research Institute." Jin Jun recalled that in May and June 2019, he went to Chongqing three times to visit experts to discuss the possibility of planting perfume lemons in Weishan and to investigate the prospects of the lemon industry. In the end, the "four seasons seedless perfume lemon" recommended by the other party passed the demonstration of the Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and only then did it have a large-scale seedling base.
"Weishan itself has a tradition of growing lemons, but the economic benefits of the varieties are low, and it is difficult to help the masses get rid of poverty and get rich."
