The predecessor of "Democratic Youth" was "Dalian Youth", which was founded in November 1946, and in July 1947, it was renamed to its current name because the organizer was changed from Dalian Youth Federation to Guandong Youth Federation. At the beginning of its establishment, it was a monthly magazine for 16 years, changed to a semi-monthly magazine in May 1947, changed to a semi-monthly magazine in January 1948, resumed to a semi-monthly magazine in October 1949, changed to a semi-monthly magazine in January 1950, and changed to a semi-monthly magazine again in January 1953.
In October 1954, the magazine was renamed "Youth of the Brigade University" and changed to 25 Kai, and in 1955, according to the decision of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, it was merged with the magazine "Youth League Members" sponsored by the Liaoning Provincial Youth League Committee.
