Although there are many reasons for not going to war, it is far from this one reason for starting a war: to defend the security and interests of our territory and the people!
At that time, Vietnam prides itself on being the world's "third" power, and if china does not stop it in time, it will be out of control in the future. Therefore, on February 17, 1979, under the order of Deng Xiaoping, our army launched a counterattack against Vietnam, and under the bloody struggle of our People's Liberation Army, the morale of the Vietnamese army was severely demoralized in 28 days and the first stage of victory was won. After the end of the war, our country and Vietnam carried out a prisoner-of-war exchange ceremony, and we know that our army has always pursued a policy of preferential treatment for prisoners, and Vietnamese prisoners in our country have clean clothes to wear, have a full meal, and have a good life.
On the other hand, the prisoners of war of our army were not so lucky, and many prisoners of war returned home with a numb look, and some of them fell to their knees in pain, which shows how much suffering they have suffered. What is even more infuriating is that when the prisoners of war were exchanged, some of our prisoners of war did not return to China, and the response given by the Vietnamese army was to die of serious injuries, which made the central authorities very angry, and the People's Liberation Army was even more unacceptable, so that it almost fought again at that time.
