Qin Sizhao, the old president of Xiamen Marine Vocational and Technical College, passed away at the age of 95

Qin Sizhao in his youth.

Qin Sizhao died in Xiamen on January 3 at the age of 95. 48 years ago, he started from scratch to re-establish the Fujian Fisheries School, which is the predecessor of the current Xiamen Marine Vocational and Technical College.

This is a headmaster with shrapnel on his body - Qin Sizhao is a combat hero of the Liberation War period " hidden" by time and low profile, participating in hundreds of battles, being wounded six times, and burying shrapnel on his right calf and back. Because he completed the most arduous task of the Jinan Campaign, he was awarded the second class merit. He was also awarded the People's Hero Medal of the First Class in East China.

However, the combat hero who left a record in the Thirty-first Army that "there is a special Qin Sizhao who can fight" returned home and "resolutely obeyed" his wife's command. The day after his wife died of illness and fell into the ground, Qin Sizhao suffered a large-scale cerebral infarction without warning and died after two months in a coma in the hospital.

Qin Sizhao's family and friends bid him farewell today, and his tombstone is engraved with the words "First-class People's Hero of East China."

Fierce battle in Jinan

Commanded the whole company to successfully drive the ladder to attack the city

The bullet passed through the palm of his hand and he did not retreat

How did New China come about? In the Battle of Jinan in 1948, it must be mentioned that the East China Field Army won a fierce battle after 8 days and nights, setting a precedent for the People's Liberation Army to seize a large city that the Kuomintang army was heavily defending. The battle was supposed to take months.

Many historical materials that record the Battle of Jinan now include the figure of Qin Sizhao, who was then the commander of the 3rd Battalion and 9th Company of the 109th Regiment of the 13th Column and 37th Division of the East China Field Army.

The most difficult battle of the Battle of Jinan was the capture of the inner city. First, because there were still a large number of enemies in the inner city, and second, because the inner city walls and fortifications were strong. Among them, the south inner city wall is 8 meters to 12 meters high, the bottom width is 10 meters to 11 meters, and the top width is 8 meters to 9 meters, and there are multiple fire points in the upper, middle and lower levels.

The task of the soldiers of the Ninth Company was to attack hard- carrying the ladder through the chest-deep moat straight to the city wall, and quickly erecting the ladder at the head of the city. However, the historical record records that the defenders shot fiercely at the ladder from the city gate and the east side of the city wall, and the ladder was beaten to pieces of wood, and the defenders on the city wall desperately kicked and pushed with their hands. The warriors at the root of the city wall clung to the ladder, but in the end, because the casualties were too heavy, the ladder was pushed down by the enemy.

The Ninth Company failed to forcibly erect the ladder four times in a row, until the fifth time, "Qin Sizhao, the commander of the Ninth Company, and Zhang Fushan, the instructor, commanded the whole company to climb to the head of Kunshun Gate City."

In 2008, the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Jinan, Qin Sizhao was interviewed by CCTV, recalling his climbing process: "Without a little fear, I have been heroically climbing the stairs forward, and below is our sacrificed soldiers."

After landing in the city, there was also a bloody battle - the defenders on the city wall had many troops, the ammunition was easy to replenish, and our ammunition could not be replenished, so after the fight, there was no ammunition, so we fought grenades. Qin Sizhao once recalled that bayonets and grenades had been hitting, all at close range, and my instructor was gone. His comrades-in-arms also recalled that the last weapon was to fight, and the shovel and pickaxe were used.

Qin Sizhao fell seriously injured in the fight. Shrapnel was left on his body, and another bullet passed through his palm, so that his palm could not be opened. Qin Sizhao was later awarded the "People's Hero of the First Class in East China" by the East China Field Army.

Many years later, Qin Sizhao was invited back to Jinan and saw the red flag that they had planted at the head of the city at the risk of death, "scarred." His children said that the red flag evoked the vivid memories of his father, and he was seriously ill after returning to Xiamen. Since then, the sons and daughters are afraid that he will be provoked, and they will no longer contact the troops. I didn't expect to leave regrets. Qin Sizhao's son, Qin Tao, said that after his father died, he originally wanted to put on a military uniform for him, but he could not contact the troops, so he could only let him wear ordinary clothes and leave.

Transfer to school

There is no school building teacher equipment

Schools should also be reopened

In 1949, the 13th Column was reorganized into the 31st Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and later marched into Fujian, participating in the Battle of Fuzhou and the Battle of Zhangxia. Qin Sizhao was also one of them.

However, Qin Sizhao rarely mentioned this past, until his children discovered that his father did not like to go to the sea in Gulangyu Island and ferry area. He later admitted with difficulty: this reminded him of when he crossed the sea to liberate Xiamen, the blood of his comrades who were shot dyed red.

Qin Tao said yesterday that my father was silent. He read a book on the military history of the Thirty-first Army, which read, "There is a qin sizhao who is particularly good at fighting." According to my father, when we were mobilizing before the war, he would tell the soldiers that we would starve to death when we went back, but after winning the battle, we could get paid to send them back to feed our parents, and the soldiers' fighting spirit would come.

Qin Si's career is recorded in historical records. However, Qin Sizhao's hardships in resuming the Establishment of the Fujian Fisheries School have been witnessed by many people.

In 1962, Qin Sizhao changed careers. In 1974, he was commissioned to reopen the Fujian Fisheries School, the predecessor of the current Xiamen Marine Vocational and Technical College.

The history of the school records this history, describing Qin Sizhao as "in danger of being ordered": as a soldier who had experienced hundreds of battles, he was also worried about the school at that time - the original School building of the Fujian Fisheries School in Jimei was moved for other purposes, resulting in a situation of no school building, no teachers, and no equipment, qin Sizhao only had three people, one of whom was also part-time, a total of "three and a half people", to reopen a school, can be described as "starting from scratch".

At the end of that year, Qin Sizhao led the teaching staff to Xiamen, temporarily borrowed a four-story building from the Dongdu Fishing Port Headquarters as a school office, accommodation and dining place, and built two bamboo sheds in front of this building, separated into 4 units as classrooms.

At that time, the Dongdu fishing port was surrounded by fields, and Qin Sizhao's daughter still remembered this past, there was no road there, every time she went to see her father, she had to fall down several times on her bicycle, and her whole body was covered with mud. She asked her father, why didn't the school have a car? He said the state is advocating for fuel savings.

The memoir article of Xiamen Marine Vocational and Technical College wrote: President Qin also went out to run errands by bicycle, getting up early and getting dark every day like everyone else, and commuting to work in a large truck. He often gave up his seat in the cab to pregnant or sick female faculty members, climbed to the back of the car and stood with everyone.

Iron Man Tenderness

Although he has experienced hundreds of battles

At home the wife has the final say

Although he had experienced hundreds of battles, Qin Sizhao returned home and immediately "surrendered his weapons and surrendered" to his wife Zhang Yuezhen, Qin Tao said, In our family, it is my mother who has the final say.

Qin Sizhao and Zhang Yuezhen met in the army, and Zhang Yuezhen was his cultural instructor. Zhang Yuezhen grew up in Gulangyu Island and is the "flower" of Gulangyu Island.

Qin Sizhao and Zhang Yuezhen have two sons and a daughter, Qin Tao is the eldest son, and he often jokes with his father: You are my idol - both a combat hero and a beautiful wife.

Qin Tao said that at this time, Dad would laugh triumphantly.

However, when his beloved wife clashed with the principles he upheld, Qin Sizhao still chose the latter: when Zhang Yuezhen changed careers, the relationship was sent to Yunxiao, and later he was old and sick, which was very inconvenient. The children therefore complained to their fathers: When you reopened the school, why didn't you transfer your mother in? Qin Sizhao only replied: "It is inconvenient for your own people."

On the 2nd, Qin Tao and his younger siblings were allowed to enter the ICU, and her daughter touched her father's bent hand and burst into tears on the spot, she said yesterday, I suddenly realized at that time: We have heard and read so many heroes since we were young, but I ignored that there is such a hero around me - a hero who truly loves the party and the country and loves the family.

On that day, she leaned into Qin Sizhao's ear and begged him: Dear father, you are the best and best father in the world, please wake up and let us do something for you.

The daughter felt her father's hand and was holding her hand back.

However, Qin Sizhao eventually reneged on his promise, and at 23:36 on January 3, he passed away peacefully.
