"Coexistence with China", the United States "put down the butcher's knife and become a Buddha on the ground"?

Text/Que Xingming

Since the Obama era proposed the so-called "Asia-Pacific rebalancing" strategy, the strategic focus of the United States has begun to shift to the Asia-Pacific region, with the goal of curbing China's rise. Trump and Biden, who is currently in charge of the White House, this pair of "old enemies" although in many ways do not deal with much, but on the issue of anti-China containment of China. Both White House teams will encircle China's strategic wiring, extending from the Asia-Pacific region to the wider Indo-Pacific.

In contrast, the Biden administration's means should be more vicious, but due to various factors, today's United States is unable to deal with China when hollowing out its mind, and even depends on China to a certain extent, so it has to mouth the sword and move out of the trick from time to time.

According to the Observer Network quoted Reuters news on January 7, the day before, in a public occasion, campbell, the INDO-Pacific coordinator of the US National Security Council, talked about the current Sino-US relations, declaring that in the Indo-Pacific region, "although the INTERACTION between the United States and China is increasingly defined by 'competition', the United States does not seek 'dominance'." He also pointed out that in its relations with China, what the United States is seeking is a way to "coexist with China."

I really admire the creativity of the White House politicians for their vocabulary. This sentence sounds like a good intention. It seems that the United States, which has long been keen on pursuing hegemonic acts, really wants to "put down the butcher's knife and become a Buddha on the ground" this time, and no longer use all kinds of Cold War tactics against China. Obviously, what Campbell, a senior U.S. Indo-Pacific official, said was nothing more than a flicker, but this time it was a new set of words.

Looking at the actual actions of the United States in just one year since Biden took office, there is no intention of "coexisting with China." For example, the signing of the "Augustus" tripartite agreement; constantly playing with fire on the Taiwan issue; intensive visits to Southeast Asia in an attempt to engage in alliance and confrontation; diplomatic boycotts of the Winter Olympics, frequently making various military moves in the South China Sea... Countless examples are in front of us, is this to coexist with China?

The articles of the US China policy are full of words related to the Cold War colors such as sanctions, smears, suppression, containment, containment, and provocation. Even Biden himself speaks of "cooperation, competition, and confrontation" when defining the U.S.-China relationship. Of course, in Biden's definition, competition and confrontation have always been the mainstream, and as for seeking cooperation with China, the premise is that it is beneficial to the United States. There is a saying that goes it well: US imperialism is very arrogant, and wherever it is unreasonable, it must be unreasonable; if it is reasonable, it is forced to do so.

Judging from the various crises currently facing the United States, the Biden administration has indeed reached the point of being "forced to do so.". Campbell's words just uttered reveal a strong sense of anxiety in the United States at a time of helplessness. Today's United States, at one point, is like an old man in his twilight years, already riddled with diseases.

When it comes to the biggest "disease" in the United States, the most intuitive "symptom" is in the seriously out-of-control epidemic. Recently, the "drug king" Omikejong has wreaked havoc across the United States, creating hundreds of thousands or even millions of new cases every day. The epidemic is so deep, naturally it has deepened many other crises, and the most direct impact is that at the moment when the supply chain is tight, the resumption of work and production has become a distant dream.

It may seem cool if the United States, without physical support, continues to print dollars, but this will only have a series of extremely terrible consequences - inflation rates continue to soar, which in turn will cause the international community to panic about US debt. Recently, it has been rumored that countries are selling US debt and de-dollarization.

From an economic point of view, the United States seems to have shown signs of "falling behind". The "King of Understanding" has just ascended to the presidency in the White House and deposed the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). After that, the TPP became the CPTPP, and the United States still disdained to join; while China had a much broader mind and vision, not only applied to join the CPTPP, but also signed the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) at the beginning of this year. All this will only strengthen China's dominance in the Pacific Rim economic circle. China has made a quick start, the United States is still looking ahead, will there be anything for the United States in the future in the Asia-Pacific economic system?

Today's United States is in a state of dilemma. If we want to continue to contain China, there is no way to exert efforts; if we want to abandon the policy of containing China, it is not at all in line with the political correctness of the United States. Forced by the situation, we had to suddenly strengthen and weaken in front of China, suddenly change people and beasts, and constantly stage the trick of "changing face."
