In order to succeed in monasticism, Xu Xinlian was diligent in the temple, cleaning the temple when there was nothing to do, and when he saw that someone needed help, he immediately stepped forward, so the monks and elders in the temple were very satisfied with him.
When Master Hongxing returned from a trip and heard about these circumstances, he did not propose to let Xu Xinlian leave the temple, which was also a tacit approval of his request to become a monk.
In February 1995, Xu Xinlian was officially ordained, and his legal name was Wei Di.

In July 1998, Xu Xinlian graduated from the Buddhist Academy and began a two-year tour of the world. He has been to the Shaolin Temple of Songshan Mountain, Mount Wutai in Shanxi, Mount Emei in Sichuan, and even stepped out of the country from Ruili to Burma, and finally returned from Myanmar.
Along the way, the wind and food and sleeping all depend on his feet, which is like the asceticism of the Tang monk Xi Tian, as if he is atonement for his past sins.
In September 2000, Xu Xinlian came to his final destination, Jingci Temple in Hangzhou. In less than two years, Xu Xinlian quickly became a confidant of the temple.

In 2007, the construction of Xiangji Temple began, and Xu Xinlian, who had a senior architectural engineer certificate, was successfully entrusted with a heavy responsibility, and the design plan of the entire temple was personally drawn by Xu Xinlian.
