August 3, 2021, Lijiang, Yunnan. Little Star, who was almost 28 weeks old, couldn't wait to come into this world, and she weighed only 940 grams when she was born. Medically, the gestational < 28 weeks is defined as ultra-preterm infants, and the birth weight < 1000 grams is defined as ultra-low birth weight infants (ELBW). Because of the super premature birth, the little star began to rescue round after round from the moment of birth. The child was then transferred to The Junior Children's Hospital for medical treatment.
At present, Little Star has transitioned to nasal catheterization for oxygen and is able to learn to breastfeed on his own, which is significantly better than when he was admitted to the hospital.
Follow-up medical staff will gradually reduce the child's oxygen flow, and once it is reduced to the level where oxygen therapy can be performed at home, discharge can be arranged.
